Remembering Michael on June 25th 2017

With June 25 in few days, fans around the world are preparing to remember the King of Pop! 8 years already since the world has lost the biggest Entertainer ever lived on this planet! It is still hard to believe the new generation and the next are going to grow up without Michael Jackson, his talent, his dance and his music.

Across the world, fans will be remembering and honoring Michael Jackson. Each of us have a different way to do so, from going to see a MJ related show to lighting a candle at home. There is no better way than your own to cope with the grief and of course remembering our idol!

Of course, it will be up to you to see how you want to spend the day but here some of the main events or projects you might want to be part of:

Michael Jackson Memorial – NETHERLANDS
This will happen in Den Haag, the Netherlands with a full day including flashmobs, Lanterns on the beach (with benefits to go to charity) and impersonators. This event is really a mix of celebration of Michael Jackson life and remembering. One Rose for Michael – USA
Fans have been requested to purchase a rose for Michael which will all be put at Forest Lawn on June 25. For the last few years, a huge amount of roses have been set in front of the mausoleum and fans from all over the world flying in and spend the day there. Please note Media often cover that event with hundreds of fans of all sorts and obviously the huge amount of cut flowers present. The MJ Living Legacy Project – Worldwide
This is a very special project to us as we support it 100%. The aim is to give back to the planet by planting a tree, a plant or a flour on June 25. Artist Cristiam Ramos has created a new Michael Jackson sculpture for Ripleys Entertainment Inc., the company that own ‘Ripley’s Believe It Or Not’.

Cristiam is the winner of twenty international awards and two world records for his creation of unique art and artistic originality. Ripleys Entertainment Inc. commissioned him to create a sculpture of Michael to mark the 8th anniversary of Michael’s passing on June 25th this year.

This amazing sculpture will be displayed in multiple Ripley’s museums in America beginning in Orlando. It is also planned to be on display in Los Angeles, Las Vegas and New York.

Cristiam says that his work is a tribute to pop music and the central image will be the sculpture of “The King – Michael Jackson.”

We'll figure it out. But, whichever songs we decide on Bearden (those who've seen the movie know why he called me by my last name) I'll need you to lower that key a bit." I said, "of course. How low do you need it to go?" He said, "you and I should sit at the keyboard and figure it out. I can still sing them but I'm not 10 anymore!" Then we both started laughing! �� it was a nice moment. . The reality is, MJ had been a superstar since he was a very young boy. Yet, he sang as if he were a seasoned old veteran! In this post, (I'm listening to MJ isolated) MJ was only 12 years old when he recorded this song! (Think about that) It takes singers years of experience to get the depth of emotion, the vocal tone, the breath control, the musical imagery, (about a rat no less) the delivery and the feel MJ has in this song at 12 years old. And, he'd already had hits before he recorded this. Insane! Smokey Robinson told me once that he wrote 'Who's Lovin You' for him to sing. He recorded it with his group in 1960. MJ heard it and wanted to sing it. Smokey said it was so good, it was as if MJ was meant to sing it. Smokey jokingly asked to see his birth certificate. Because, you actually believed michael lost a love and was in pain about it. MJ was only 10!!! - I have many personal stories about MJ. Some I may share in a book one day. Some I'll never share! We ALL know what this day is. I'm not going there. I choose to celebrate the time I, and indeed we all had with michael Jackson while he was here. Life is unpredictable. We can't control every moment. But, we can control how we choose to react to everything! Try to choose the highest version of yourself always. Reject fear. Embrace love. That is something we talked about a lot. Probably more than music. Living that way is how I continue to honor his true legacy! As we used to say in rehearsals a lot, "it's all for love!"

michaelbeardenThis time 8 years ago, MJ came into the band room with a really dope jacket on. I said, hey man, don't put that jacket down, I may take it home. He said, "you like it?" I said yeah man. It's great! He said, "a fan just gave it to me." I was like, no way! It looks tailor made. He just smiled and said, "My fans love me. And, I love them!" And that's definitely true. He talked to me about his fans at every turn while we prepared the show. . In this clip, he made a surprise appearance at an Oakland club to promote his new single in 1979! It's now iconic! He was genuinely a really good dude. Miss his energy. Especially in these late June days. .We still have the music!

Visitors pay homage at Michael Jackson's family home on death anniversary




Even if he was the deciding factor to see Michael Jackson's childhood home, Addarius Hudson didn't want to get back in the SUV.

Hudson, one of 11 family members who traveled all the way to 2306 Jackson Street in Gary from Birmingham, Ala., over the weekend, wasn't exactly looking forward to heading all the way back home Sunday afternoon. The idea was made more painful by the fact that the rest of the group is off from their respective jobs Monday.

Still, he was happy to make the trip.

"I made the choice," he said, smiling as the rest of the Hudson-Glenn-Tolbert family marveled at the tiny house in which the King of Pop and his giant family spent their formative years.

"We didn't even think about his death (while planning the trip)," added Amanda Hudson, of Birmingham. "We just decided to come. And we learned some history, like how Jermaine was the lead singer until someone threw a baseball and it hit him in the throat."

Sunday was the eighth anniversary of Jackson's death at age 50.

Just as they have every year since Jackson died, throngs of fans from all over the world convened at the house-turned-museum Sunday afternoon. Patricia Scott Johnson, whose mom, Annie Scott, was first cousins with Jackson Patriarch Joe, said people as far away as France and Sweden and as "close" as Texas stop by her merchandise tent to peruse family pictures and meet other extended family members still living in the old neighborhood behind the Roosevelt High School football field.

Girtha Amerson, of East St. Louis, Ill. brought her grandchildren, Chanel Amerson, 17; and Darius Hoffman, 16. The kids stared awestruck at the house, which Girtha Amerson said has changed so much since she last saw it in 1996. There was no fence surrounding the entire house, she said, nor were there trees and other shrubbery.

"I was the biggest fan of him. I had this big old book all about him and had the game (The Michael Jackson Experience video game)," Chanel said. "I was 9 when he died, and I was just heartbroken."

"I was angry," Darius said. "Man, I used to like 'Speed Demon' or 'Smooth Criminal' in that game."

****** Hervey, 19, of Enid, Miss., was 11 when Jackson died and said he had no idea who the singer was until that very day.

"I'd heard some of his songs on the radio, but I was like, 'Why's my momma crying over this dude?'" Hervey said as his cousin, Bree Hardy, took pictures of the house. "Then I started watching his videos: 'That's a human dancing like that?' Then I started watching his live performances, and that was it. This dude's amazing."

Hardy, 25 and of Chicago, insisted Hervey and she go to see the house while he's here on vacation. He was having trouble letting it sink in.

"I used to listen to a lot of rap, and it was fine, but I didn't really connect to it. But with Michael, like if I'm sad, he has a song for that, or if I'm crushing on a girl, I can listen to 'P.Y.T.' over and over again," he said. "It's like Michael's talking to me."

It has been a long time since you've gone and I still miss all those calls at 03 AM sharing your ideas and those unforgettable laughs.

Michael Jackson changed my life forever and I'm very thankful for that. Beside it's a sad day, I think we shouldn't cry because he's not among us anymore. I think we should celebrate his life and legacy he spent with all of us during his 50 years sharing his talent with us.
