Docs got brief heartbeat from Michael Jackson 1hr after collapse
By James Desborough, 28/03/2010
MICHAEL JACKSON was almost brought back from the dead, the News of the World can exclusively reveal.
Battling medics managed to restart his heart a full hour after he "flat-lined" following a cardiac arrest last June.
Hospital docs triggered a weak pulse for TEN MINUTES but it could not be sustained.
The incredible development emerged in a lawsuit filed by the pop superstar's father Joe against Conrad Murray, Jacko's personal doctor.
Murray is already charged with involuntary manslaughter over Jacko's death.
Joe's detailed 13-page document claims Murray caused his son's death by giving him drugs and not getting him to hospital sooner. The lawsuit also states Murray:
FAILED to tell paramedics he had given the singer Propofol, the anaesthetic coroners ruled killed the King Of Pop.
OBSTRUCTED justice by giving FIVE different versions of events about the star's death.
ORDERED bodyguards to clear up and hide the Propofol bottles before paramedics were called to the scene in Los Angeles' Hollywood Hills.
LIED to Richelle Cooper, the hospital doctor who took over the stricken star's treatment, telling her Jacko had not been ill when he had pneumonia, bronchitis and brain swelling.
Last night angry Joe, 81, said: "This evidence is damning. They should lock him up and throw away the key. It's disgusting what happened here."
A family insider told us: "Murray's delays and lies cost Michael his life. Why has he not been charged with murder? He failed to do his job and willingly gave Michael the drugs that killed him.
"This lawsuit is not about what we think, it's filled with documentary evidence from those at the scene, who saw what Murray did."
The suit was compiled from police and coroners' documents and evidence from Dr Cooper, the respected head of the UCLA Medical Center Emergency Department.
As we revealed last week, paramedics declared 50-year- old Jackson dead at his home but he was still rushed to hospital, arriving at UCLA at 1.21pm on June 25.
Miraculously in the emergency room Dr Cooper and her team, with their superior equipment, established "cardiac rhythm." Hospital reports say the heartbeat "appeared to be wide and slow in the 40s."
The lawsuit explains: "The nurses and physicians at UCLA detected a weak femoral pulse and cardiac activity.
"At 13:22 hours he showed cardiac activity. At 13:33 he showed a weak ventricular rhythm (contracting of the lower heart chambers).
"At 13:52 he had a pulse of 53 beats per minute."
At 14:05 doctors inserted a balloon pump up through the star's leg to his heart valve entrance, hoping to kick-start normal heart activity. The report goes on: "His diastolic blood pressure (the pressure between heartbeats) went from 20 to approximately 40 at times and sometimes to 60.
"Despite these efforts, Michael Jackson did not regain a spontaneous pulse or heartbeat. Michael was pronounced dead at 2:26 pm."
The exact time of Jacko's Propofol-induced cardiac arrest is unsure, but expert medical analysis obtained for the lawsuit suggests he was actually dead at 11am.
A report by Dr Cooper, filed the day after Jacko's death, is among the most damning parts of the lawsuit against Murray. It shows he did not tell her about his daily Propofol injections.
Dr Cooper wrote: "By report of Dr Murray the patient had been working long hours but had not been ill.
"The only medications reported were Valium and Flomax. There is no history of drug use by the patient as reported by Dr Murray."
Last week we revealed Murray also lied to paramedics about what drugs he had given Jackson.
The lawsuit was filed by Brian Oxman, the attorney who represented Jacko at his 2005 child molestation trial.
Oxman insists Murray has told FIVE different stories about Jacko's drug intake. The suit claims: "He concealed his reckless and deadly use of Propofol for the purpose of protecting himself from his improper use of medications for Michael Jackson when the life of his patient was in jeopardy.
"Three times the defendant falsely stated the nature of the drugs used by and which he administered to Michael."
The suit then claims Murray altered his story a further two times about what and when he gave his patient over a few days last June.
To make matters worse for Murray the lawsuit confirms reports that bodyguard Alberto Alvarez, who raised the alarm, was told to clean up the death scene. It states: "Alvarez told police that before he called 911 defendant instructed him to conceal bottles of Propofol and place them in a bag.
"In an outrageous departure from the standard of care, defendant stopped giving CPR and cleaned up the room so the medications would not be discovered.
"Defendant placed the previously unused wires of a pulse oximeter on Michael Jackson's fingers.
"Alberto Alvarez told police defendant asked him to call 911 only after the drugs were concealed."
The suit also says hours before Jacko's death, Murray was leering at strippers.
The lawsuit continues: "Prior to treating Michael Jackson, defendant was at a strip club called Sam's Hof Brau where he had been drinking.
"It was reckless for him to drink prior to administering anaesthesia to Michael Jackson. He concealed his conduct from Michael Jackson."
Among a huge quantity of powerful medicines found at Jacko's home were 19 tubes of hydroquinone and 18 tubes of Benoquin, both of which are used to whiten skin.
The lawsuit also confirms the singer - once famous for his energetic dancing - was a weak, exhausted, stressed out drug addict in the days before his death.
Murray has 90 days to respond to it.

Condivido in pieno i tuoi sentimenti.

Dr. Murray: Why Apologize? I Did Nothing Wrong
TMZ has learned Dr. Conrad Murray has not reached out to Michael Jackson's family to apologize for the death of the singer. As for why Dr. Murray has not apologized ... he believes he did nothing improper that would have led to Jackson's death. A source connected to Dr. Murray tells TMZ ... Dr. Murray does not believe the Propofol he administered to the singer killed him, not withstanding the L.A. County Coroner's conclusion that Jackson died from a lethal overdose of the anesthetic. The source tells TMZ the reason Dr. Murray never told paramedics about administering Propofol is because he had no idea the drug was a factor in Jackson's demise. As for allegedly hiding Propofol bottles in the closet at Jackson's house ... Dr. Murray's people note it was the doctor himself who informed LAPD detectives two days after Jackson's death that the bottles were in the closet.

KATHERINE JACKSON DEMANDS UPGRADED CHARGE
Michael Jackson's mother Katherine is furious over new allegations that her son's doctor was more worried about hiding the drugs he was giving the King of Pop than saving his life.
Katherine Jackson, 79, is demanding an upgraded charge of second degree murder, her lawyer told the Daily News, after a report claiming Dr. Conrad Murray interrupted CPR to conceal drug evidence from paramedics.
"Mrs. Jackson never doubted that this man murdered her son, and these new revelations, if true, mean we need additional charges to fit the severity of his crimes," attorney Adam Streisand said.
"Second degree murder requires malice aforethought, which can be implied by the conduct of the defendant," he said yesterday. "The actions alleged suggest that Dr. Murray abandoned his duties as a physician or an ordinary human being to save himself rather than his patient."
Murray, 57, has pleaded not guilty to involuntary manslaughter. He admits he gave the singer the powerful anesthetic Propofol as a sleep aid but denies doing anything that killed him. The coroner ruled Jackson's death a homicide caused by an overdose of Propofol and other sedatives
The damning claims came in a witness statement by Alberto Alvarez, the Jackson employee who rushed to Murray's aid shortly after 12:17 p.m. on June 25 and seeing the king of pop lying on a bed with his arms outstretched and his eyes and mouth open.

fonte: http://www.tmz.com/2010/03/29/michael-j ... ad-murray/
TMZ has learned the bodyguard who says Dr. Conrad Murray asked him to help hide Propofol in Michael Jackson's house the day he died was fired from his job Friday by the Jackson family.
Alvarez had been working at the Jackson family compound in Encino since the singer died last June.
Alberto Alvarez is the bodyguard who called 911 from Jackson's house. Last week it was reported that Alvarez told LAPD detectives ... that before paramedics arrived on scene Dr. Murray asked him to put bottles of Propofol in a bag.
Alvarez -- who is sometimes referred to as Jackson's "logistics director" -- did not tell detectives about the alleged cover-up the day Jackson died, but rather two months later. The story about the alleged cover-up broke last Monday.
As for why Alvarez was fired, the Jackson family isn't talking.

Conrad Murray - Michael Was Alive at UCLA
Posted Mar 30th 2010 2:00AM by TMZ Staff
TMZ has learned doctors who worked on Michael Jackson at the UCLA Medical Center ran two EKGs on the singer, and at least one doctor who interpreted the results claims there was heart rhythmic activity both times.
Michael Jackson and Dr. Conrad Murray
Furthermore, sources tell TMZ Dr. Conrad Murray insists he was able to restart Jackson's heart at the singer's home before paramedics arrived and then maintained heart activity in the ambulance.
Dr. Murray's evaluation contradicts paramedics at the scene who wanted to take Jackson to the morgue, not UCLA, because they believed he was dead.
It also contradicts Joe Jackson's lawyer, Brian Oxman, who tells TMZ he believes Jackson was dead even before paramedics arrived at the house. Oxman says the weak pulse detected at UCLA was in reaction to resuscitation efforts.
We're told the criminal case is shaping up as a legal war between medical experts, who will be interpreting medical tests and charts in various ways -- always confusing for a jury.

TMZ has learned doctors who worked on Michael Jackson at the UCLA Medical Center ran two EKGs on the singer, and at least one doctor who interpreted the results claims there was heart rhythmic activity both times. [...]

We're told the criminal case is shaping up as a legal war between medical experts, who will be interpreting medical tests and charts in various ways -- always confusing for a jury.

EXCLUSIVE: Dr. Conrad Murray Will Call As Witness Another Doc Who Gave Jackson Propofol
Dr. Conrad Murray wasn't the first doctor that gave Michael Jackson Propofol, and RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned that Murray’s defense team will call another doctor that admitted to police that he gave Michael Jackson the powerful hypnotic agent.
According to sources close to the investigation, Dr. David Adams, a Las Vegas doctor admitted to the LAPD that he had given Michael Jackson Propofol, prior to Dr. Murray becoming the King of Pop's doctor.
The insider tells RadarOnline.com that Ed Chernoff, Dr. Murray's lawyer, plans on calling Dr. Adams when the case goes to trial. "Dr. Adams is clearly relevant, you have a last doctor standing with Dr. Murray, and he wasn't the first person to give Michael Jackson Propofol," the source says.
The defense team also knows that Michael Jackson received Propofol while he was in Germany and Dubai, but the lawyers don't have the names of the administering doctors yet, because they haven't received full discovery from the Los Angeles District Attorney's office, according to the source. Once those names become available, "Those doctors would most likely be called to testify for Dr. Murray's defense," the insider reveals.
Calls to Dr. Adams attorney weren't immediately returned. Dr. Murray will be in court on April 5th, at which time a date is supposed to be set for his preliminary hearing, but his lawyers still haven't received the entire discovery that prosecutors have, so it's unlikely that a date will be agreed upon at that time.

Michael Jackson: cuore riprese a battere

Dr. Conrad Murray: 'I'm Hanging On by a Thread'
Posted Apr 1st 2010 2:32PM by TMZ Staff
Dr. Conrad Murray's lawyer filed legal papers today pleading with the judge in his criminal case not to yank his medical license, because he needs it to pay for his defense.
Murray's lawyers are responding to the State Attorney General's motion, asking the judge to suspend his medical license as a condition to bail.
Murray's lawyer, Ed Chernoff, says his client was in financial hot water before Michael Jackson's death and is now, "without fear of overstatement, hanging on by a thread."
Murray believes if the judge suspends his license, Texas and Nevada will follow suit and the doctor won't be able to make the money required to mount a defense. Although we're told Chernoff won't be making money, Murray is still responsible for expert witness fees and other trial-related expenses.

Dr. Murray's Defense - Jackson Killed Himself
Posted Apr 4th 2010 4:00AM by TMZ Staff
TMZ has learned Dr. Conrad Murray's legal defense is that Michael Jackson gave himself the fatal dose of Propofol.
Multiple sources familiar with the strategy tell TMZ the defense argument goes like this:
- At around 10:50 AM, Dr. Murray gave Jackson 25 mg of Propofol from a 20 ml bottle -- that's only about 1/8 of the bottle.
- The dose Dr. Murray administered would keep someone asleep for only 5 to 10 minutes, But the Propofol, along with the Ativan and Versed that was already in MJ's system, had a synergistic effect that put Jackson to sleep for a longer period of time.
- For the next hour, Dr. Murray stayed in the room and was on the phone for much of the time. Dr. Murray didn't leave the room to make the calls because MJ liked activity in the room, regularly sleeping with the lights on and cartoons blaring on the TV.
- At around noon, Dr. Murray left the room for approximately two minutes to go to the bathroom. While he was gone, the defense believes Jackson suddenly awakened and was frustrated he had spent nearly 9 hours trying in vain to sleep. The defense theory -- Jackson took the 20 ml bottle of Propofol and self-injected the remaining contents through the IV, causing a massive overdose that stopped his heart.
- Dr. Murray walked back in the room and saw Jackson with his eyes open and pupils dilated. Dr. Murray dropped the phone (he was speaking with his girlfriend) and began administering CPR.
The defense will argue Michael Jackson was a long-time Propofol addict -- something TMZ first reported shortly after the singer's death. As one source said, Jackson liked the sensation of Propofol being administered by IV, adding, "Michael liked to push it."
L.A. County Coroner's investigators took a picture in the room, showing an empty Propofol bottle on the floor, underneath the nightstand by Jackson's bed. The defense will argue Jackson grabbed the bottle from the nightstand, injected himself and then dropped the bottle.
Remember, law enforcement believes Dr. Murray hid bottles of Propofol before paramedics arrived. The defense will argue ... if Dr. Murray was really hiding Propofol, he would have removed the empty bottle under the nightstand that caused Jackson's death.
Ed Chernoff, Murray's attorney, could not be reached for comment.

Dr. Murray Face to Face with MJ's Family in Court
Posted Apr 5th 2010 12:10AM by TMZ Staff
There figures to be pandemonium down at the courthouse Monday morning --we're told Dr. Conrad Murray will be in the building and come face to face with some of Michael Jackson's relatives.
Our sources say the majority of Jackson's immediate family plan on being there. We're told family members, including Joe, are very upset with the information in TMZ's story Sunday -- that Dr. Murray's defense team will argue MJ killed himself by self-medicating with too much Propofol.
As for Jackson fans, a Facebook group has organized a protest outside and so far nearly 500 people are scheduled to show.
The hearing is set to begin at 1:30 PM PT/4:30 PM ET. We'll bring it all to you live. Stay tuned fonte: http://www.tmz.com/2010/04/05/conrad-mu ... -jermaine/
Jackson's Demanding Personality On Trial
Posted Apr 5th 2010 12:25AM by TMZ Staff
It sounds crazy, but Michael Jackson's Coca-Cola addiction may become a building block in Dr. Conrad Murray's legal strategy.
TMZ broke the story that Dr. Murray's defense will be that Michael Jackson caused his own death by pumping a lethal dose of Propofol into his own body during the time the doctor was out of the room.
Sources familiar with the defense strategy tell us one of the missions is to show that Michael Jackson was a demanding celebrity who wanted what he wanted when he wanted it, even if it posed a danger to himself.
One of the ways the defense will prove its point is with the famous soft drink. Jackson consumed massive quantities of Coca-Cola, knowing full well it was laden with caffeine and would make it next to impossible to fall asleep.
Our sources say the defense has numerous examples of situations where Jackson hyped himself up with caffeine from soda and then used drugs -- including Propofol -- as the ultimate sleeping solution.
The upshot -- Jackson was a guy who wanted instant gratification ... so the notion that he would wake up when Dr. Murray was out of the room, become frustrated and self-medicate with Propofol is consistent with his personality.
