We are introducing our new four-hour show twice on the same day: Session A and Session B. It's a great show packed with new material and many of my old favourites. (True story - we discovered a treasure trove of unseen video during Covid lockdown and I'm thinking you're gonna like it...)

What better way to celebrate Michael's Birthday Weekend than "In The Studio With MJ!!"
What better place to host this celebration than New York City!!
We're back.
Let me tell you a little story.
Covid has been a nightmare, but you know that. But during the lockdown I started digging through some boxes.
A lot of boxes.
In one box I found a video tape that I had long forgotten I even had. I brought it upstairs and popped it into a player. And for the next two hours I didn't move. It was like time traveling.
It was us - the studio crew.
From a project called "Decade", but you might know it better as "Dangerous".
We were younger, thinner and maybe sillier - but it was us.
It was magical.
Tape machines and consoles and familiar faces. Not faces - friends.
Music filled those studios, along with laughter.
And food.
And more laughter.
It was us. At work.
I kept watching, having nearly forgotten these amazing sessions.
It was a gift.
Michael goofing into the camera.
Bruce masterfully mixing.
Matt and Bill and Buxer and Teddy.
It was us.
It was then.
It was real.
I kept watching.
I wanted to go back, just for a minute.
In my mind I remembered that smell when you open a new box of 2" analog tape.
I remembered Bruce bringing in a fax from Sony asking when the record would done and saying, "It will be done when it's done!"
My mind was racing with memories being triggered by what I was watching on this amazing tape.
Old friends.
Beautiful songs.
A time capsule.

You know Michael Jackson, but do you really know what it was like to work with him?
My name is Brad Sundberg, and I first met Michael in 1984, during a project called "Captain EO".
Little did I know back then that over the next 18 years I would spend countless hours with him working on projects like "Bad", "Dangerous" and "HIStory".
Dance mixes.
Video shoots.
Special projects.
Tour preparations.
Neverland Valley Ranch.
He was my boss.
He was my client.
He was like no one I have met.
His name is Michael Jackson, and I'd like to introduce you to him.
I was Michael's Technical Director for many years, working side-by-side with him and the team in the studio. During my seminar I take my guests through a music-filled journey, allowing you to come into the studio and hear how these records came to life.
We are offering two mostly-identical four-hour events this Saturday August 28th at 12pm-4pm and 5:30pm-9:30pm at Smash Studios 307 W 36th St 18th floor, New York, NY 10018.
Proof of vaccination requested for entry, masks optional.
I can promise you it will be a day you will remember over and over again.

"Michael was an inmate and always felt more comfortable at #Neverland. He would have felt at home if they quarantined him because he used to stay home for many months at a time without going anywhere. Miguel was the king and if they wanted to see him, they had to go and see him. One day I convinced Michael to come to Miami with me on the weekend of my birthday. We stayed with Al and Nancy Malnik Malnik kinlam6 who lived closer to Palm Beach than Miami. Michael loved being with Al and Nancy so much that he moved home for 6 months. I convinced Michael to leave home and come with me to #MiamiBeach to visit my neighborhood. I showed him where the Bar Mitzvah was at the EDEN ROC Hotel, my ieshivá The Hebrew Academy, my Beach High and where my first kiss was held. I also took him to my favorite Cuban restaurant at that time #David' sCafe Michael asked me to invite my grandmother (Fanita) whom she loved and who lived in Miami Beach to join us. They would talk on the phone for hours and he would ask my grandmother about her life, but she spent most of the time telling him about me and my life and how proud she was of me. Michael would always tell me how lucky he was not only to have a grandmother but also how lucky he was to be loved so much by someone. She said that she inspired him and felt the same way about her children as she did about me. Since he didn't go out much, he loved the experience of being in a restaurant doing something normal, like ordering a menu and eating among other people. Some people recognized him, but they assumed he looked like Michael Jackson because no one would believe that he would be in a family restaurant eating a great Cuban meal. He ate Cuban food for the first time. We had croquettes, steak dove, Picadillo, mature (rice and beans) Jupina, Materva to drink and we finished him off with of course a mamey milkshake. Good times. Today is not his birthday, but the day after. The 1984 Victory Tour was my first working introduction to Michael Joseph Jackson. Our paths would not cross again for three years. I was a member of Dolly Pardon’s Band on her new CBS variety show, when Darryl Phinnessee called me with the opportunity of a lifetime, to tour with the greatest to ever take the stage. That call changed my entertainment life. Through Quincy and so many others, I have been blessed to work with the best of the best, in every genre’. There was NONE like Slim. The definition of a perfectionist. Working with him, you had no choice but to raise your game to heights you never knew existed within you. I could talk or write a book about my close to 25 years on and off with this Legend. Loved by the world, misunderstood by those who feared that love could one day change this confused world in which we live. Happy Belated Birthday on purpose my friend. We played in front of 1 million in New Deli, on a stage framed with bamboo, and you didn’t think that it was strong enough to hold all of the weight that was our show. They always said that “The bravest man to go into battle, was afraid to go, but went anyway.” What a hell of a show we gave that night! Your heavenly audience eclipses that by millions I’m sure. Why, why? Tellem’ that it’s human nature. RIH my friend.
