Michael Jackson fans enjoyed watching the young star's incredible career begin at the age of five, before ramping up and becoming the king of pop. Jackson managed to break all sorts of records in the music industry. And, considering the amount of music he released, he managed to drop unbelievable songs all the way up to his tragic death.

While, of course, many of Jackson's albums were special to him, there are a select few which seem to stand out in one way or another.

Every Michael Jackson fan will have a particular album they cherish, but Jackson himself had one of his own.

The late star's Twitter account has been quite active recently, and has detailed a number of significant moments throughout his life.

Lately, the newest post from the account saw it releasing a quote from Jackson himself, talking about his fifth album: Off the Wall.

The Twitter account posted an image of a young Jackson, clad in a silk shirt, with an inspiration quote from the pop icon.

It read: "'Off The Wall ... meant a great deal to me.

"Because its eventual success proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that a former ‘child star’ could mature into a recording artist with contemporary appeal' – Michael Jackson."

The quote concluded with the date of the tweet's post, which coincided with the album's release date: "Off The Wall was released August 10, 1979."

Off the Wall is certainly one of Jackson's more iconic albums, as it truly cements the transition from his childhood career into a career that he had carved out for himself.

Included in the seminal album were such hits as Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough and Rock with You.

In a recently unearthed interview Jackson could be seen talking to Geraldo Rivera about his legacy.

During the chat Jackson explained why he wouldn't put up any awards inside his household.
