Tiffany said meeting him and dancing with him on stage gave her hope. She suffered from bone marrow failure at the time and was able to recover
The vultures will never succeed in destroying his legacy. NEVER.

#StoryOfTheDay...Super Bowl XXVII, Pasadena, California. After a halftime flop for Super Bowl XXVI, the NFL knew they had to step it up a notch. They managed to secure #MichaelJackson as their halftime performer. His appearance at the game would spark a trend, pushing big-name artists to headline halftime shows. To this day, the league never pays performers for their halftime gigs, Jackson being the only exception. After much back and forth with Jackson’s label, they eventually agreed to let him perform. The agreement stated that the NFL and Frito-Lay donate $100,000 to the Heal the World Foundation, a charity founded by Michael Jackson that aimed to provide health care, drug education, and mentorship to Los Angeles youth. Jackson’s performance was a huge success, and was the first time in history that game ratings spiked during a halftime show.

Re: Michael Jackson the humanitarian
"I’ll never forget the way Michael asked me to tour with him. We were working on the Bad album, and from time to time he’d say, “Um, you really enjoy performing, right?” And I’d say, “Yeah. It’s great.” I didn’t really think anything of it. Time would pass, and he’d say to me, “Um, you like performing live, right?” I’d reply, “Yeah, it’s great.” More time would pass, and he’d then say to me, “Um, you really like live audiences, right?” This went on and on, until it finally dawned on me. I said to him, “You want me to tour with you, don’t you?” And he said, “Yeah.” The next thing I knew, I was the musical director for the Bad tour, which was huge.
Michael did something really sweet for me that I’ll never forget. The running joke at that time was that I was a famous keyboard player but I didn’t own a Rhodes of my own. After we finished the Destiny album, I was at home minding my own business when my doorbell rang. A guy driving a white truck asked me, “Are you Greg Phillinganes? I have something for you.” He opened the truck and took out a giant case with a Rhodes Suitcase model in it. Attached was a note from Michael: “I knew you didn’t have one of these so I thought you’d like one.” I still have that Rhodes, and I recently had it completely redone. It sounds amazing." - Greg Phillinganes

Re: Michael Jackson the humanitarian
Michael Jackson was a 10-year-old newspaper boy for the #Star 25 years ago when he met the other #MichaelJackson, the #superstar.
The Michael Jackson he met that memorable night many years ago isn't the same Michael Jackson the media has pilloried with such relish over the ensuing years.
"I still remember it. It was a pretty cool event. Meeting him, you got to see a different side of him, not the Wacko Jacko stuff. He was just a really nice guy. That's what I remember about him, just being so kind and patient," said Jackson.
As a boy, Jackson was constantly teased about his name and "not being the real Michael Jackson." He was also a huge fan of the pop star, who in 1984 was in the midst of his Victory Tour and at the height of his fame.
Jackson's mother, Ann, wrote to tour promoters "Concert Productions International" and asked if they could help fulfill a young fan's wish. They agreed.
On a chilly October night, accompanied by former Star reporter Joyce McKerrow, the Grade 5 student and his mom slipped through a side door at Exhibition Stadium and were taken to a private room.
"All of a sudden ... there was Michael Jackson. It was a special moment," Jackson recalled.
The #singer, just minutes before he was poised to go on stage, offered Jackson and his mother some juice, signed an autograph and did his best to put them at their ease.
