Matt Drudge also did his bit to tell the truth. Friedman was a guest. This is a must-listen!

Rodney Jerkins Says Michael Jackson Accusers From ‘Leaving Neverland’ Should ‘Be Ashamed of Themselves’ for Suing Jackson’s Estate
Brenda Alexander
October 22, 2020

Michael Jackson’s famous moonwalk helped to solidify him as one of the greatest entertainers of all time, but his astounding career was not without pitfalls. For decades, dozens of young boys and men have come forward accusing Jackson of sexual abuse.
Immagine
The documentary Leaving Neverland details two alleged victims’ accounts of Jackson’s abuse. Producer Rodney Jerkins says the men should be ashamed for suing Jackson’s estate.

A recap of allegations in ‘Leaving Neverland’
Leaving Neverland focuses on two men, Wade Robson and James Safechuck, who allege they were sexually abused as children for multiple years by Jackson. Throughout the film, the men give accounts of what they say happened and how the alleged abuse impacts their adulthood.

The film premiered in two parts on HBO in the spring of 2019. It was well-received by critics, winning the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Special the same year.

The film however received backlash from Jackson’s fans, with many calling the men’s stories false and questioning their validity based on their previous testimony in denial of any abuse at the hands of Jackson.

Jackson’s family also blast the film, Per Rolling Stone Magazine, they allege the men are money hungry. Jackson’s nephew Taj tells the publication:

“We live in a world where currency is popularity — through followers, through social media — the more popular they are, the more money you’re gonna make. That’s just a fact. And it’s not a coincidence that both Wade and James have appeals going right now against the estate for hundreds of millions of dollars.”

Taj Jackson, Rolling Stone Magazine
The Jackson estate sued HBO for breach of contract, citing a clause in a 1992 contract between Jackson and HBO and seeking $100 million from the network. The suit is still ongoing.
Rodney Jerkins slams ‘Leaving Neverland’ accusers
Jerkins produced many of Jackson’s records, including Jackson asking him to produce his final album Invincible. In a new interview with Vlad TV, Jerkins gushes about his time with Jackson and bashes Jackson’s alleged victims.

“I think allegations are merely allegations,” Jerkins begins. “I feel as though, like, for people to come out after someone dies should be ashamed of yourself. Even before all of that [Leaving Neverland], they’re just allegations – we don’t know [what happened].

Jerkins says he spent much time with Jackson producing his music and maintains he never saw Jackson participating in any inappropriate behavior with children. He also states that he never saw any young boys around Jackson while they were working together, outside of Jackson’s children.

Furthermore, Jerkins says he believes the allegations against Jackson are an attempt to jeopardize Jackson’s accomplishment.

“I really get upset when someone dies and you try to kill their legacy,” Jerkins snaps. “What was it that you weren’t strong enough to do it when he was alive and now that he’s under the ground [your plan is] ‘Well, let’s take him further down.’”

The Jackson family vehemently denies all claims against the late pop star. Jackson was found not guilty during all trials related to sexual abuse of children, though he settled with a few alleged victims out of court. Jackson also denied the allegations while he was alive.

One Boy’s Story
By Rebecca Leung
Ahmad Elatab of Clifton, N.J., first met Michael Jackson when he was 9.
Did he ever attend a sleepover at Jackson’s house? “Yes, once and it was pretty fun,” says Elatab, who was 17 when Correspondent Peter Van Sant spoke with him nearly two years ago.
“It’s not young boys. He had young girls. He had teenagers with him, all kinds of ages — young, old, everybody.
Elatab, who’s Lebanese, struck up a friendship with Jackson as a boy, and has visited Neverland Ranch at least six times.
“There was a thing about the press. They told everybody that he hates Middle Eastern children, and he wanted to prove them wrong,” says Elatab. “So he brought, like, 50 Middle Eastern kids, and met with them in a private studio in New York City.”
“He started calling me, we started hanging out and stuff like that,” he adds, showing a picture of himself, his brother and Jackson.
While he never slept in Jackson’s bed, he saw many others who did. Does he think that Jackson is a child molester?
“No, I don’t. He’s not weird,” says Ahmad, who claims Jackson has never done anything inappropriate to him or anyone he knows. “He’s not sexual with kids. He’s not a molester, he’s not a pedophile. He just likes to help children.”
Ahmad’s relationship with Jackson made front-page news on the New York Post, which referred to Jackson as “Wacko Jacko.”
“It’s a stupid name. No, he’s not Wacko Jacko,” says Ahmad. “We call him different names. We call him Doodoo or Smelly.”
So who decides who gets to sleep in the same bed as Michael? “He decides, and the kids just ask him, and he says, ‘Yeah, sure,’” says Ahmad. “A whole bunch of kids just come and jump in bed with him.”
In fact, Ahmad says Jackson’s bed can get quite crowded: “He sleeps with his kids. Anybody. He sleeps with his makeup artist. He just sleeps this way. He’s a very loving person.”
Ahmad believes he knows the boy who has reportedly accused Jackson of molestation.
“He threw himself on Michael and he really wanted to hold Michael’s hand,” recalls Ahmad. “Michael gives him love back, but he doesn’t give him love back in a sexual way … I didn’t see Michael getting aroused, I didn’t see nothing like that.”
Ahmad believes the molesting charges are based on lies, along with the report that Jackson has a secret bedroom at Neverland Ranch. “It’s not a secret bedroom, they just made that up,” he says. “It’s a room over the theater, it’s like a VIP room.”
To Ahmad, Neverland is like a magic kingdom for children, a place where adults have little say: “You can do anything you want. You’re treated like kings, never told what to do, just tell them what to do … They can touch expensive paintings, they can touch all these expensive diamonds. Anything.”
“I never had the feeling that he will be a child molester,” says Ahmad’s mother, Hanadi Fattouh. “I trust Michael Jackson.”
And Ahmad says he trusted Michael, too. He remembers the man who once took him and 20 other children to a closed Toys ‘R’ Us. “We went there. He said the store is yours, you could have anything we wanted,” says Ahmad. “He’s a normal guy. He’s nice, and he’s the most loving guy in the world. He uses money to help himself but also everyone else around him."

I wish that Jimmy Osmond interview was still around. It was on This Morning just after Michael died, and Fern Britton asked him if he thought MJ was guilty, and I can remember his words to this day:
“If I did, do you honestly think I’d be here defending him?”

Michael Jackson and Lupus [updated]
Mean Machine
Jan 2, 2020

Michael Jackson suffered from discoid lupus erythematosus, a chronic autoimmune disease affecting the skin characterized by atrophic and discoid plaques over sun-exposed areas of skin.

Immagine

He also suffered from vitiligo, another autoimmune disease known to be associated with other autoimmune conditions, and considered to be a multifactorial disease originating from genetic susceptibility and environmental factors. More specifically, Jackson suffered from the most severe class of non-segmental vitiligo, “Vitiligo universalis” (universal vitiligo), which causes depigmentation to encompass most of the body.
The presence of both lupus and vitiligo was confirmed through the years by several physicians and clinics who had treated or examined Michael throughout his life, and also after his passing.

Immagine

Among the doctors that treated or examined Jackson’s lupus are Dr. Arnold Klein (dermatologist who also treated Jackson for his vitiligo), Dr. Allan Metzger (internal medicine physician and rheumatologist whose specialty is systemic lupus) and Dr. Strick (an independent physician appointed by DA Thomas Sneddon to examine Michael).
Lupus symptoms include:
Round lesions
Thick scales on the skin and scalp
Peeling
Blistering lesions, especially around the elbows and fingertips
Thinning of the skin
Lighter or darker skin pigmentation, which can become permanent
Thickening of the scalp
Patches of hair loss, which can become permanent (alternatively, hair can regrow when lupus is in remission)
Brittle or bent fingernails
Ulcers inside the lips
Permanent scarring

Immagine

Immagine

The whitening of Jackson’s skin had absolutely nothing to do with any attempt to become white. That’s nothing but tabloid narrative debunked by Jackson’s consistent actions and behavior, both as a humanitarian and as an artist. The whitening of his skin was the result of the powerful combination of two severe autoimmune conditions that he couldn’t control.

A classic symptom of lupus is the “butterfly rash”, a red or purplish rash that extends from the bridge of the nose over to the cheeks in a shape that resembles that of a butterfly. The rash may be smooth, or it may have a scaly or bumpy texture. It can look like a sunburn and can be painful for the patient.

Immagine

Lupus can cause the nails to crack or fall off. They may be discolored with blue or reddish spots at the base. These spots are actually in the nail bed, the result of inflamed small blood vessels. Swelling may also make the skin around the base of the nail look red and puffy.

Immagine
Many people with lupus are unusually sensitive to the sun and other forms of UV light. A day at the beach may trigger a skin rash in areas exposed to sunlight and may worsen other lupus symptoms. Certain medications can make people with lupus even more sensitive to UV light.

Discoid lupus affects the skin and may appear on the neck, back of the hands, and face, especially around the nose area. Cutaneous lupus erythematosus, or CLE, refers to forms of lupus that affect the biggest organ in our body, the skin, causing rashes and sores.

Immagine
Michael covering a lesion on his cheekbone area during his visit to St. Jude Hospital in Memphis with wife Lisa Marie Presley.

These are just some of the many symptoms of lupus. Some include lesions that can produce scarring and skin discoloration (darkly colored and/or lightly colored areas), fever, joint pain, temporary or permanent hair loss, sores in the mouth and the nose.
Lupus cannot be cured.

Michael’s synergic autoimmune conditions were complicated to handle. He tried to manage his vitiligo as best as he could: at first by applying dark makeup to cover the discolored areas on his face and body and then, when the condition became more widespread, by using light makeup to cover the few dark patches of skin left. Another standard treatment for vitiligo included FDA-approved topical medications. As far as his lupus went, it was treated with medications and reconstructive surgeries, plus the already mentioned lifestyle habits.
Independent physician Dr. Strick (appointed and paid for by DA Tom Sneddon) confirmed that Jackson’s surgeries were essentially reconstructive, in an attempt to deal with two challenging disfiguring autoimmune diseases as best as he could and try to look like “a normal guy”.
The doctors taking care of Michael’s complex health ailments were also clarified during the AEG trial by medical professional David Fournier, a nurse anesthesiologist who himself had directly worked with Jackson on several occasions.

Immagine
Jackson never openly spoke about his lupus. However, he donated for the research and promoted its funding. On October 1st, 2003, Michael attended the charity event “Light the way for Lupus” with this exact purpose, making a speech and awarding Meztger for his work on helping Lupus patients.

According to DermNet, lupus can have a profound effect on the patient’s mental and physical wellbeing, and its cutaneous manifestation often result in depression and psychological stress.
It is estimated that 20–40% of patients with cutaneous LE suffer from emotional problems. More specifically, cutaneous lupus affects nearly every aspect of a person’s life, including their family and other social relationships, and patients report being extremely self-conscious and distressed about their appearance as well as being socially stigmatized. This autoimmune condition also interferes with leisure activities due to the patient’s need to avoid sunlight. Its chronicity and lack of resolutive treatment can frequently cause feelings of helplessness and entrapment. Support for cutaneous LE patients might include not only topical and systemic treatment for skin disease, but also medications to reduce stress.
Lupus and vitiligo are two extremely complex autoimmune diseases to manage. Anyone at Michael’s place would be praised for the grace and dignity with which he handled them, instead of bullied and systematically body-shamed because of some provably false, or at least greatly exaggerated, tabloid stories.

."I was a Boy in Michael Jackson’s Life,
And Nothing of What He’s Being Accused of in This Documentary "Leaving Neverland" Happened
I wanted to write and post this before Leaving Neverland premiered at Sundance last Friday. After all, I had a close relationship with Michael Jackson growing up and nothing of what he continues to be accused of has ever happened to me. I decided to wait because I was curious to see if the film would get any wings considering Wade Robson’s volatile and unsuccessful claims against Michael Jackson in the past. Sure, let him tell his story again. Truth and justice will prevail as they have. Soon after it premiered, I quickly Googled “leaving neverland” to discover news articles stating that the four-hour documentary received a standing ovation. In disbelief, I searched the hashtag on Instagram to see Story footage from the theater and there they were — Wade Robson, James Safechuck and the film’s director Dan Reed — on stage in front of an applauding audience at their feet. I’m not sure if the audience was doing so because they were perceived as survivors making a public appearance, or if the film was actually good in their eyes, or both; but all I could think about was that their strategy, unfortunately, worked.
Raising awareness about child abuse and providing a safe community for others to speak their truth is vital, but using Michael Jackson as a vehicle to do so is simply wrong. In order for any story to be valid, there has to be an element of trust and I do not trust the people associated with this film. Let’s be clear: Michael Jackson showed up. He faced public interviews, he answered difficult-to-stomach questions, he agreed to interrogative documentaries, he withstood a 10-year FBI investigation, and he appeared in an eighteen-month criminal trial until he was acquitted having been found not guilty on all fourteen child molestation and abuse-related accounts. The fact that twelve years of criminal investigations and government legal proceedings can be completely overruled by the media due to a manipulation of the same stories once told before by a select few, especially by those who were initially on the defense, is deeply concerning. Maybe even horrifying.
I haven’t seen the documentary, but it “focuses on two men… who allege they were sexually abused by the pop star Michael Jackson as children” (Wikipedia). Everyone is entitled to his/her/their story and I believe that each story should be told in truth to the best of his/her/their ability, but my issue with Leaving Neverland is the heavy reliance on one side, especially when that one side is comprised of only two people. On top of it all, those two people happen to know each other. So what we have is a product comprised of two acquaintances’ stories who were in Michael’s life as boys that has been glorified in a 236-minute documentary. Remember that the film would mark Robson’s second attempt to tell his story. He told the same, truncated version of his story publicly in 2013 and simultaneously filed suit against the Michael Jackson Estate, which the court later dismissed. This was eight years after he testified twice under oath explicitly stating that Michael did nothing wrong during a criminal trial in which the jury delivered a verdict of not guilty. It’s clear that this film’s intention is to position Michael as a child predator, but I find that the entire Leaving Neverland saga is really, in turn, a predation on a man of power and wealth now almost 10 years dead and thereby defenseless.
I was part of Michael’s life from the day I was born in 1987 until 2001. The last time I was literally close to him was backstage at the Staples Center when his casket wheeled past me. I knew him well because my mother, Janet Zeitoun, his sole hairstylist during the time, knew him even better. One could say that they might as well have been siblings. In fact, my mother was one of the few non-family members invited to the private memorial service at the cemetery hours before the public one in Downtown LA. Michael felt so comfortable with my mother because she made him laugh unlike anyone else, let alone the fact that she’s incredible at her craft. Michael even said in writing that she’s the “Michelangelo of hair.”
From the 80s, 90s and early 2000s, my mother has been around the globe with Michael. She’s been by his side doing his hair on sets, in dressing rooms, backstage at his concerts, at his home, on planes, in hotel rooms, in cars, and yes, even at Neverland. When my mom was pregnant with me in ‘86, Michael told her that she’d be having a boy; and on the day of my birth, Michael sent a limo to our home filled with gifts. And from then on, my single, hard-working mother who wanted to spend as much time with me as she could often brought me to work with her. So I grew up on the sets of Michael’s music videos, I played with my toys on the floor of his dressing rooms, and he sometimes came over to our house to get his hair done. As I got a bit older and could walk on my own two feet, I became the boy responsible for making sure Michael got candy in between some of his concert rehearsal sets. Michael would make everyone stop and patiently wait for me to wobble my way on stage to him. I even remember singing “I Just Can’t Wait to be King” to him in his trailer (so embarrassing!) but he gave me his undivided attention and smiled. I went to Neverland, several times of which Michael was there and he gave us the full tour of his home. I remember my favorite golf cart to get around had a Peter Pan emblem on it. I remember his movie theater concession stand being filled with candy that you could go behind the counter and take to watch whatever movie you wanted. I remember riding the big steam engine train that would take you from one end of the ranch to the other. I remember a big pot-bellied pig named Petunia and that I could name a newborn deer and rabbit. I chose Cuddie and Thumper, respectively; original, I know, but Michael loved the names.
Unlike Robson or Safechuck, I wasn’t in the public eye with Michael. The only sort of public thing that happened was him publishing a photo of us in the centerfold of his 1995 tour book. Fourteen years later, the caretaker of his children recognized me backstage at the Staples Center during his memorial service and told me that the photograph was one of Michael’s favorites, and at the time in 2009 was still framed on his grand piano in Neverland." #TalunZeitoun

Michael always told me: "attention to details, LaVelle"... I've spent over two decades by his side and paid attention to details of his actions and behavior. I NEVER saw nothing inappropriate and the reason is simple: his heart is pure and genuine.
Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about fake accusers and money seekers.
Almost ten years ago we said "rest in peace", but apparently "rest" and "peace" never was a choice for him before and after his passing.

Mourad Mesellaty is with Grace Rwaramba.
#StoryOfTheDay...My family met #MichaelJackson at Sun City resort in 1997 and we remained friends with him up until his very tragic and untimely death. My sons were 12 and 10 years old at the time.
During those years Michael spent many times at our house and we went to Neverland and in all those years I can honestly say that Michael never ever spent time alone with my two sons.
Everything that Grace Rwaramba has said is absolutely true. There were always so many people at Neverland that it would have been absolutely impossible for Michael to have "lured" boys to his room without anyone noticing it. Every room in the main house was always open to the guests and we never saw Michael's bedroom door closed. Michael had nothing to hide. He was open and transparent.
My husband and I were included in every arrangement. There was never even a hint of a suggestion of him wanting to spend time alone with my sons. They never slept in his bedroom at Neverland. We all slept in the guest cottages. As responsible parents had he suggested anything that we felt uncomfortable with we would have packed our bags and gone home immediately.
Michael never moved on to "younger boys" as claimed by Wade Robson. If he did why are they not making the same disgusting allegations? Why didn't the director speak to them? He knows they exist and where to find them. Michael was friends with families and their children from all over the world and everyone knows that including the director!
The reason the director did not speak to them is because they will all tell the truth which is Michael is 100% innocent of every allegation levelled against him so instead he chose two perjurers desperate for money in order to make this so-called documentary.
I believe that the reason Michael did not want to remain friends with Wade Robson or James Safechuck anymore is probably because they asked him for money at some stage and he did not give in to their requests so hence they took their revenge after he died. All Michael ever wanted to do was to help children which he did. To label him a paedophile is just beyond belief. He was truly the kindest and most honest person I have ever met.
What Wade Robson testified about Michael in the court trial when he said Michael never did anything inappropriate to him is the truth and nothing but the truth. Wade Robson's bitterness from not getting funding from the estate for a project he wanted to do turned him into a compulsive liar for the sake of money.
He is a perjurer and now people believe his lies. I shudder to think what this documentary has done to Prince, Paris and Blanket. Now they have to live with the lies about their father. What kind of world are we living in where people are prepared to destroy innocent children for fame and fortune?
My question is why did these two liars wait until Michael died to make false accusations against him? They had plenty of time to lay a charge against him before he died. My family and I will fight for Michael's innocence in every way we can until the day we die because his innocence is worth fighting for.
I see that these two perjurers claimed that they reason they did this documentary was so that this does not happen to other boys in the future. What nonsense! In my opinion all they have done is open up a door for anyone to accuse a celebrity of molesting them in order to get money out of them.
Nowadays when you admit to being molested, whether it is true or not, you become a hero to the public. I am quite sure that in the near future there will be many allegations coming out of boys being molested by celebrities as it is a very easy way to make a quick buck and get a moment of fame. My family could have done the same for fame and fortune but we are honest people.
Michael taught me many things but one of the most important things he taught me is don't believe what you read in the tabloids until you see it for yourself and I know the absolute truth and I saw it for myself that Michael Jackson was not a paedophile!
We miss Michael every single day of our lives and are thankful and grateful for the times that we spent with him. We had the best times of our lives with Michael. We are all devastated by the disgusting lies in this documentary as we know the truth.
What I found really disturbing in the documentary is the two mothers who really didn't seem to be angry about what their sons allege Michael did to them. If my sons had been molested I would have no fond memories of the molester at all no matter how famous, wealthy and kind he was to my family.
I would only have hate and resentment regardless of how kind and generous the molester was to my family and I certainly wouldn't keep any mementoes from him. I would want to see him rot in jail for the rest of his life and no amount of money in the world would make me back down if I knew for sure my sons had been molested, as per the first false allegation where money was taken by the father, and we all know how he ended up.
I would be fuming and angry and crying hysterically during the interview and have absolutely nothing nice to say about the molester yet these mothers spoke very fondly about Michael and certainly didn't seem upset in my view. Even more disturbing is that Wade Robson at the age of 22 did not realise he had been "molested." This so-called documentary is just downright disgusting and anyone who believes these lies is just plain stupid!

Judge Paulina Kokoz known as juror # 10, told Fox News. "I find it hard to believe it's still going on." That didn't happen… he was accused of horrible, horrible things, and it's sad that we lost such a wonderful human being on this planet. "I would still vote innocent today."

Apr 6, 2005. #MichaelJackson and Magic Johnson gathered at a Los Angeles church Wednesday for the funeral for famed lawyer Johnnie Cochran Jr.
Michael Jackson, who came from Santa Barbara County with lawyers who are defending him on child molestation charges, smiled as he left the service and said, “It was incredible.”
“We didn’t clap when the acquittal of Simpson came for O.J. We were clapping for Johnnie,” Sharpton told the throng that ranged from the Rev. Jesse Jackson to Michael Jackson and his attorney Thomas Mesereau Jr.
“We were clapping because for decades our brothers, our cousins, our uncles had to stand in the well with no one to stand up for them. And finally a black man came and said, ‘If it don’t fit...you must acquit.”
Johnnie Cochran defended Michael Jackson against allegations of child molestation in 1993 and 1994, allegations that Michael Jackson denied. This trial happened slightly before the famous "trial of the century," but it was a big part of how Cochran became a well-known defense lawyer famous enough to warrant a call when Simpson was bringing his defense team together.
Johnny Cochran's connection to Michael Jackson is downplayed compared to his work on the Simpson trial. After the settlement Cochran said, "The resolution of this case is in no way an admission of guilt by Michael Jackson ... In short, he is an innocent man who does not intend to have his career and his life destroyed by rumors and innuendo."

AP Linda Deutsch about the Michael Jackson trail with Michael Levine:
" Michael Jackson had the world looking at him. The whole thing was a debacle. He should have never been tried. An overzealous prosecutor who saw himself as some sort of Javert chasing Jean Valjean".

Tom Mesereau about Nancy Grace: " She didnt know was happening in the court room. She tried to spin a verdict through a lot of emotional innuendo. When she was humiliated by the acquittals of Michael Jackson, she lashed out at jurors. I thought she was the bottom of the barrel"

.In this heartbreaking picture we can see
Michael Jackson arriving at the Santa Barbara County Superior Court
on March 10, 2005 in Santa Maria, California.
This emotion is at its most painful knowing how much Michael has endured for more than a decade the wrath of a sanctimonious and pretentious world. Here are the beginnings of the plot to attack the greatest artist this earth has ever known.
“My father cried with me at night. Imagine your father crying with you about the world hating you for something he didn't do. And for me, he was the only thing that mattered. I started to hate the world because of what they were doing to it ''
#ParisJackson (Rolling Stone, 2017)
Life in the shadow of false claims:
"God only knows that I am innocent" #MichaelJackson
It may be hard to believe, but when it comes to the accusations against Michael Jackson, your own voice is not heard. Michael Jackson was not allowed to comment or share his own account of the stories that surrounded his life for so many years.
Meanwhile, those who accused him were embraced by the media and encouraged to speak up.
It was only after Michael Jackson's death that stories about his reaction and state of mind suddenly surfaced. Those close to Michael speak of a broken-hearted man who struggled to recover from the ordeal of being accused.
His accounts give us an insight into Michael Jackson's life in the shadow of false claims.
The Chandler family's monetary threats began when Michael was about to start the second leg of his #DangerousWorldTour . Michael performed on stage every night, while hiding his world by turning it upside down. Gradually, he developed an addiction to painkillers due to the stress and pressure of complaints.
"Here abandoned in my fame ... Armageddon of the brain ... How is it when you are alone and cold inside?" , Says Michael Jackson in the lyrics for Stranger In Moscow , which he wrote in September 1993, after his show in the Russian capital.
The song is one of the most telling testimonies of his emotional state at the time when news of Chandler's allegations surfaced. It was released years later, on the album “HIStory” - described as “a musical autobiography”.
In November 1993, several shows were canceled after Michael Jackson collapsed from dehydration and exhaustion. The media suggested he was faking it, but his friend Elizabeth Taylor came to his rescue and secretly took him to a rehab center in an undisclosed location. Michael Jackson canceled the rest of the tour and then returned to California to fight the charges against him.
After two juries decided there was no reason to accuse Jackson, he was ready to leave the charges behind and move on with his life.
Despite the media's hostility, he returned to the studio and released a successful album and Michael Jackson married Lisa Marie Presley.
In 1997, Michael became a father for the first time and dedicated himself to the family.
But in 2003 things got worse again. After Martin Bashir's "Living with Michael Jackson" aired, Michael Jackson's relationship with the kids returned to the headlines. Through his film, Bashir speculated on the nature of Michael Jackson's friendship with Gavin Arvizo. Arvizo was a 13-year-old boy who recovered from cancer thanks to Michael Jackson's support.
At the time, Gavin and his family were on Michael's side against Bashir and the media. Michael and his team were determined to clean up his reputation and reshape him with new projects.
These plans failed: the Arvizos changed their history. On November 18, 2003, authorities issued an arrest warrant for Michael Jackson and seventy police officers raided his Neverland ranch.
Michael's former manager Dieter Wiesner described how it all happened..."Michael was in his room," recalled Wiesner. “He was sitting by the fireplace when I came in and he was very quiet. I had to tell him and it was not easy to say because Michael was in such a good mood. He saw a future. When Bashir's situation came up, he was very depressed but now everything had changed and Michael was ready to do new things. So, going to his room and telling him ... it was a disaster. I said, 'Michael, bad news. The police are at the ranch. ' He was totally paralyzed. I was sitting next to him; with my arm on your shoulder. He looked at me and ... You could see the blood coming out of his face. He was deeply shocked. But I said, 'Michael, now you have a chance to finally clear it up. At once and forever ''
Michael spent most of those two days crying, said Dieter Wiesner. “I was there with him day and night. He was shocked; he was crying ... he didn't know what to do. It was a very difficult situation. We should go to Europe. He was ready to move on with his life and everything was prepared. It really killed him. ''
Two days after the attack on Neverland, Jackson's depression turned to anger. When it became clear that the boy behind the charge was none other than Gavin Arvizo, the boy whose hand Jackson held in Martin Bashir's documentary, Michael Jackson decided to fight.
He took a plane back to California and surrendered to the police and so Michael Jackson's fight for his life began.
"The only question that came to mind and that would also make sense in this situation was 'How are you?' He didn't answer and he didn't even look at me, but he held my left hand very tightly, '' she told German fan Sonja Winterholler in the book “A Life for LOVE” about her experience of meeting Michael Jackson in 2004, when she visited Neverland to support Michael during the time he faced charges.
“He then kissed me on each cheek, but he still didn't say a word. I was a little confused and didn't know what to do. So, the next thing I asked him was 'Are you okay?' ”
“Michael said. 'No!' And he continued as he shook my hand: 'I just pretend I'm fine, but I'm not - I'm not.' In the same second, he hugged me tightly and I realized that he was crying.
I started to understand why he hadn't said anything before. He tried not to lose his balance and not cry, but my questions didn't help...
We stayed there for a long time, just hugging each other. Michael sobbed a few times and I felt that he was shaking. It took me at least half a minute to really understand that, at this point, Michael was telling me his true feelings. Up until this point I thought he would really be strong and positive about the approaching trial, as he had shown the public in the first indictment a few days earlier. ''
Jermaine Jackson, Michael's older brother, writes in his book about the days of the judgment from the Jackson family's point of view.
One morning, Michael arrived late at court, wearing pajama pants and a jacket. The media criticized Jackson for "his appearance," but he had his reasons.
Earlier that morning, Michael Jackson fell into the bathroom and was rushed to the hospital. It was March 10, 2005, the day after Gavin Arvizo, his accuser, testified. Jermaine recalled: “the cell phone rings. It's Mom, looking alarmed. 'Michael is in the hospital ... We are here with him ... He slipped and fell. It's your back. ' "I am on my way". In the hospital corridor I see an unusual number of nurses and patients, but the noise subsides when I approach the bedroom door, inside, the curtains are closed. In the half-light, Michael is standing, wearing pajama pants and a black jacket. "Hi, Erms," he says, almost whispering. 'Are you okay?' I ask. 'I just hurt my back.' He forces a smile. The fall on the ranch, when leaving the bath, But he is a child molester, right? He deserves it, right? The police must have some hard evidence, or he wouldn't be on trial, right? People have a lot to learn about how wrong that judgment was, ' ' said Jermaine.
Jermaine told about that day at the hospital. His brother there, shuddering with back pain but mental pain was much greater. He faced physical disintegration. His slim dancer body had disappeared, his gait became painful, his smile was forced, he looked thin, dejected.
"He did nothing but create music to entertain and spread the message of hope, love and humanity, and an awareness of how we should be with each other, especially with children, but he is accused of harming a child."
“Michael looks up from the floor. He looks sadder than I've ever seen him, but I can tell he just wants to talk. Until now, he rarely released his emotions in front of us. He was firm, controlled and decisive, talking about his faith, as he trusts the judge of God, not the judge in a robe. But his controlled behavior is now undone, no doubt triggered by yesterday's testimony and aggravated by the frustration of this back injury. 'Everything they say about me is not true. Why are you saying these things? ' 'My baby . . . ' says our mother. He continues to speak: “They are saying all these horrible things about me. I am not this. I'm not lightening my skin. I am not hurting children. I would never do ... It's not true, it's all fake ''he says, in a low, shaky voice.
'Michael. . . They can make the world think that they are so right, but they are all wrong. . . they are wrong, said our mother- her hands are on her face. Michael pulls the buttons on his jacket and begins to struggle to remove the sleeves he reveals his bare chest.
Crying he says. 'Look at me! . . . Look at me! I am the most misunderstood person in the world! ' It falls apart. It was the first time that I saw the true extent of his skin condition, and it shocked me. His self-awareness is such that he has kept his body hidden even from his family, until now. 'God knows the truth. God knows the truth, 'he kept repeating. We all surrounded him, unable to embrace him because of his back, but it was still a comfort. I help put your jacket back on. "Be strong, Michael," I said. 'Everything will be fine.' It didn't take long to compose himself and apologize. 'I'm strong. I'm fine, 'he said. […]
After I leave, the bodyguards broadcast a message from their lawyer, Tom Mesereau, in court. The judge is not happy with Michael's delay, and if he does not go to court within an hour, his bail will be revoked. Even in pain he went to court. ''
After I leave, the bodyguards broadcast a message from their lawyer, Tom Mesereau, in court. The judge is not happy with Michael's delay, and if he does not go to court within an hour, his bail will be revoked. Even in pain he went to court. ''
As the trial progressed, Jackson's health deteriorated noticeably. The media, of course, has not missed a chance to ridicule him for his weak and fragile appearance.
On June 13, 2005, Jackson was acquitted on all charges. After the verdict, he reportedly spent days in the hospital. Michael Jackson proved his innocence and won the case, but the damage was done.
This time, Michael Jackson was unable to recover and leave everything behind. He did not have a home to return to: “I will never live there again. Neverland is not my home. ”, he said in December 2003. Michael left Neverland and never came back.
In the years after the trial, he moved from one country to another with his three children, away from the spotlight.
Bill Whitfield, who was Jackson's bodyguard in 2007, recalled:
'' He didn't trust strangers. Whenever he was caught in a crowd, he was truly frantic and nervous. We were at a shopping center in Virginia one afternoon. Javon had gone to get the car. I was waiting with Mr. Jackson for the exit with the security guard at the mall.
Someone had recognized him and a small crowd had formed. He was signing some autographs, waving to people. It was a friendly situation, not a crowd or anything.
As Javon stopped and opened the door for Mr. Jackson, this guy at the back of the crowd shouted “F ***** child molester!”
I heard it clear as the day. I looked at Javon; he had heard that too. We pray that Mr. Jackson would not have heard. But after we got in the car and walked away a little bit, he leaned forward and said, "Guys, did you hear someone say something back there?"
"No, sir," I said. "I did not hear anything. Did you hear anything, Javon? ”
Javon shook his head. "No sir."
Michael Jackson said: “I thought I heard someone say something very bad. I could have sworn. You are not lying to me, are you? ”
"No sir."
We didn't want to lie to him but we knew what would happen if we confirmed it. Hear someone call you a child molester? It would bring him down completely. He would close the door and disappear into his room for at least a week and we didn't want that to happen.
We drove with no one saying anything for the next ten, fifteen minutes and then from the back seat he said:
“I would never hurt a child. I would cut my wrists before I hurt a child. ”
In July 2009, American actress Anjelica Huston spoke about the last time she saw Michael, just a few weeks before he passed away:
“After Captain EO, I only met him on rare occasions. But I happened to meet him at the office of our dermatologist, Arnie Klein. We hugged and talked for a few hours. We talked about how he felt humiliated for being accused of sexual abuse and his regret for losing Neverland, where he lived for so many years. I remember your words:'They ruined my dream. I had this dream, perhaps childish and silly, but Neverland was a place designed to celebrate the innocence of childhood that I never had, and they took it away from me. I love children, I could never harm them. I've spent my whole life loving them and trying to do good things for them. The claim that I hurt a child breaks my heart. It is an unbearable pain. These are unjust and terrible accusations ... ”. As I spoke I started to cry. I held him in my arms , said Huston.
“Michael's heart was broken. That's why he died. That's the truth. They broke your heart ”.
Huston wrote about this moment in his autobiography, describing Michael as a "victim of a broken heart"
.
On June 25, at the height of his preparations to return to the stage, Michael Jackson passed away at the age of 50.
Shortly after his death, a 1993 handwritten note was found. On this note, the lyrics of the unpublished song, “The Innocent Man”:
“If I sail to Acapulco or Cancun in Mexico, there the law is waiting for me… And God knows that I am innocent. If you wait for me in Cairo then Lord where am I going, I am a man without a country. However God knows that I am innocent. - Michael Jackson
