His highly anticipated new album Scorpion officially drops Friday.

And on Thursday, Drake dropped a last minute bombshell by suggesting one of the tracks is, in fact, a previously unreleased song by Michael Jackson.

He posted a track list to his Instagram and the tenth track on the B side is listed as: Don't Matter To Me (FT. Michael Jackson).

According to TMZ, Drake raps and sings along to the Jackson tune.

The website's sources also claim it's similar to the 2014 Jackson song, Love Never Felt So Good that was turned into a duet with Justin Timberlake.
The Jackson collaboration isn't the only collaboration on the album.

The 11th track on the A-side Talk Up features Jay-Z while track 11 on the B-side features Static Major and Ty Dolla Sign.

Drake

“Don’t Matter to Me” [ft. Michael Jackson]

Drake was not hiding a child, thank you very much; he’s appalled at your insinuation. What he was hiding, apparently, was a cryogenically preserved Michael Jackson. When the King of Pop's falsetto floats up the surface of “Don’t Matter to Me,” over Noah “40” Shebib’s otherwise bloodlessly pretty synth washes, it is startling for all the obvious reasons—hearing a dead man sing, etc.—but most of all, for the reminder of the pleading power still in that falsetto, which was more unearthly and weightless than all the others in the world.

Credit to Drake and 40 for scraping away the patina of Jackson’s later work and dialing back into that bleeding hurt, the wounded essence of his singing. It is bittersweet to hear the King of Pop reduced to a color in Drake and 40’s palette, just another ghostly voice painted around the rapper to make him look more serious, more soulful, less callow. But it works, the way a really beautifully designed piece of clothing works. Jackson’s disembodied wail elevates what is otherwise a lovely but routine Drake ballad, full of the requisite hurt feelings and impatient sighs and self-serving justifications. Drake still sounds mired in himself; no matter how luxe his surroundings, he will always play the character from the cover of Take Care, crestfallen with his golden chalice. But Jackson sounds transcendent. The man who once wrote to himself, in a private manifesto, that he “would be magic” comes back to us through what feels like that exact medium. And he still sounds like he floats just a few inches off the ground.

Amid the reflection was a surprising tidbit about the future: The compact 74-year-old crooner with the smile that lights up a room has been working with the 31-year-old Toronto hiphop superstar Drake, of all people, on a new song that will be released in June. We had to know more. In a wide-ranging, hour-long interview Friday, a relaxed Anka, accompanied by his 12-year-old son, Ethan, and an assistant, revealed what he could about the unlikely collaboration. Here’s a portion of the conversation:

Q: What’s going on with Drake?

A: I’m really under a code of silence, you know how he is. It’s one song. It’ll be out in June. There was apprehension when we got together (because) you want to know people and you want to like them. I’m at the stage in my life that I don’t want to waste my time (but) he’s a good human being. The people around him are very smart, and he’s very smart, and I knew that the component I brought to the table that he would, as I told him, break the code, and it did. It just came together with him creatively and intellectually. We’ve got a great record.

Q: Any hints on the title?

A: No title yet. My contribution title is It Don’t Matter To Me. I don’t know if it’s going to be that. They haven’t made that decision. Right now it’s Drake’s record, and we’re respecting that.

Q: Do you sing on it?

A: I’m not sure yet. Maybe not. What I brought to the table has been my production. I think what we’re really doing here, and what you have to do with anything creative like that, is what’s best for the song. I’ve always worn many hats: publisher, writer, producer. So like on the (Michael) Jackson records, I was the producer and writer. When you hear the material, it speaks for itself.

When Did Michael Jackson Record "Don’t Matter To Me"? Drake’s Album ‘Scorpion’ Featured The Track By The Late Icon

On Friday, June 29 after months of anticipation, Drake's new album Scorpion was released and within hours of dropping, it's become a massive success (and of course, has people talking). Perhaps most notably, though, is a feature by the late King of Pop. But when did Michael Jackson first record "Don't Matter To Me"? The track could possibly go back years. (Bustle reached out to Drake's reps and Jackson's estate for comment on the song, but did not immediately hear back.)

Scorpion has reaching the No. 1 spot on iTunes and Apple Music after just a few hours and the album has fans buzzing about Drake's alleged child, politics, appearances by Jay-Z, Nicki Minaj, and more.

The night before the album was released on June 28, TMZ reported that Michael Jackson's "Don't Matter To Me" was a previously unreleased vocal by the singer. In Drake's version, Jackson's vocals lead the hook, as he sings, "All of a sudden you say you don’t want me no more/All of a sudden you say that I closed the door/It don’t matter to me." TMZ described the track as similar to 2014's "Love Never Felt So Good," a previously unreleased Jackson song turned into a duet with Justin Timberlake.

Scorpion was released just a few days after the nine-year anniversary of Jackson's death (June 25, 2009). However, investigating the history of the similar track "Love Never Felt So Good" could help provide some insight on when "Don't Matter To Me" was recorded.

According to SPIN, "Don't Matter To Me" credits legend Paul Anka as co-writer and guest vocalist. Anka also worked with Jackson on "Love Never Felt So Good," which was originally from 1983, in which he played the piano. According to Geo TV, Anka was also credited in the 2014 version of "Love Never Felt So Good." Further, Jackson and Anka had reportedly been working together on an album of duets in 1983 and the project shifted to the back burner once Thriller became a massive, history-making success. Thus, "Don't Matter To Me" could have very well originated in the '80s.

It seems that fans have mixed reactions to Jackson's posthumous track. According to NME, fans on Twitter criticized "Don't Matter To Me," some saying the vocals seemed fake. One fan wrote, “That first posthumous MJ album had fake MJ vocals and this Drake record sounds fake too." Another Twitter user denounced the track, saying, "That fake sounding Michael Jackson on Drake’s album put me in a bad mood."

Other fans, though, are loving the duet.
Although Drake hasn't explained how the duet happened or the process of obtaining the vocals, he's been open about his admiration of Michael Jackson for years. Back in a 2009 interview with MTV News, Drake discussed Michael Jackson's impact on him, saying, "He was the first artist I ever experienced that made you get lost in the music."

In a more recent interview with Nardwuar Serviette in 2016, Drake continuously praised Jackson, calling him the "greatest entertainer of all time." Drake continued, "He pushed himself further and further, did things that I can’t even comprehend, like choreograph dancing, playing instruments, everything. He was just the greatest.”

So far, Scorpion Drake's first album since 2016's Views, has received mixed reviews. A Washington Post critic described Scorpion as too long and "soggy." The Independent gave the album three out of five stars, saying it "lacks a sting in the tail." On the other hand, critics at The Ringer nodded Scorpion for being "decent," "memorable," and "inspired."

While critics and fans may be mixed about the album overall, "Don't Matter To Me" is not only catchy, but it does revive the late and great Michael Jackson in a beautiful way.

Drake latest album Scorpion, which he released on Friday, is a smashing success.

The 31-year-old rapper's album broke the global record on Spotify for the most streams ever for individual tracks - at 132, 450, 203, according to Variety.

Austin told the outlet that he's 'not ok with him' using it, adding that 'if he [Michael] didn't finish it, you shouldn't use it.'
Adding that while he 'respects' Drake, he wouldn't have done it if it was him.
Austin, who is the son of Rebbie Jackson, told TMZ his thoughts on it on Friday while out in Hollywood.

The song was a tune Michael had worked on before his hit single Thriller.
Variety writes that fellow rapper Post Malone had previously set a record on Spotify with his Beerbongs & Bentleys album, which was streamed worldwide 78,744,748 times.

Drake broke that record with 132,450,203 streams of his album's individual tracks, Variety reports.

The website also noted that on Apple Music, Scorpion was streamed 170 million times on Friday.
Drake's last release - More Life - in 2017 had 89.9 million streams on the first day.

Variety said that the results were from SpotfiyCharts.com but noted that a Spotify rep said that the data may not be 'fully accurate.'

Scorpion was the number one album on Apple Music charts in 92 countries on Friday, they reported.
Drake also finally confirmed on the tune Emotionless that he did in fact father a son with French former adult movie star Sophie Brussaux.

The musician who became a father in October 2017 - sang in the tune: 'Speaking about his experience of fatherhood, he revealed: 'I wasn't hiding my kid from the world/I was hiding the world from my kid.

"Breakin' news in my life I don't run to the blogs/ The only ones I wanna tell are the ones I can call.'

Referencing former fling Sophie, the Take Care hitmaker admitted the pair have only actually met on two occasions.

He added: 'I had to come to terms with the fact that it’s not a maybe. That s*** is in stone, sealed and signed.

'She's not my lover like Billie Jean, but the kid is mine. S***, we only met two times.'

At the end of May, Pusha-T had stirred up a firestorm of rumors on his Drake diss track, The Story of Adidon, in which he alleged that Drake was hiding a son from the world.

The Scorpion is stinging everything else on the pop charts this week.

Drake’s new album, “Scorpion,” is a massive hit far surpassing Kanye, his minions, Bey and Jay, everyone.

“Scorpion” is on track to sell 740,000 copies by Thursday night. That number is almost all from streaming. Paid downloads on iTunes and amazon will come only to around 150,000.

Every song from the “double album” set is on the Streaming Hits chart, as well. Every single track is in the top 20 or top 30. That includes songs Drake sampled with Michael Jackson (his estate should be happy) and Mariah Carey (her sample comes from a song she sampled largely from Maurice White, late leader of Earth Wind & Fire).

Money is just pouring. “Scorpion” is number 1 everywhere. And that’s good for the kid Drake admitted to fathering on this record. The mother is former adult-film star Sophie Brussaux. She and the kid can relax in the South of France forever.

Will “Scorpion” be in the Grammy mix? Undoubtedly. You can already expect it to win Best Rap Album and probably in the general Album of the Year category.

In case you’ve been living under a rock, Aubrey Drake Graham is Canadian, He turns 32 this fall. His father is black, American, Catholic raised in Memphis and is a well known studio drummer. Drake’s mother is Jewish, from Canada. Drake, a dual citizen, was Bar Mitzvahed.

Every record this guy puts out turns to gold immediately. His biggest hit is “Hotline Bling,” with the refrain ‘you don’t call me on your cell phone’ set to the beat of Timmy Thomas’s “Why Can’t We Live Together.”
