Michael bought his Oscar from 'What The Wind Took'.
On Saturday (June 12) a record price was set for Hollywood items at a Sotheby's auction in New York City when Michael Jackson (bid on the phone via a
agent) paid $ 1,542,500 for the Oscar for Best
1939 film by producer David O. Selznick by
'Gone With The Wind' .
Price broke the previous $ 607,500 mark (established in 1996) by the Oscar won by Clark Gable for Best Actor
Jackson's bid was five times higher than the estimated presale price at New York's Sotheby's auction.
A Sotheby's spokesman said the purchase had fulfilled Michael Jackson's ′′ lifelong desire to own that one
object in particular ".
Dana Hawkes, collector sotheby's specialist, said, ′′ It's just one of those items where the sky is the limit.
′′ I had no idea he was going to get as high as he did ".

Mourad Mesellaty

#StoryOfTheDay...Here is a testimony of Marika Prochet...
"with two friends, we met #MichaelJackson in his car on March 19, 2009. We talked about AEG, how he was furious with them, who only wanted to make a profit, selling tickets through "VIAGOGO", he said " I hate hearing stories like that "
Me and my friends saw a very frail Michael. He had on a pair of big orange pants. But because he was in the back seat and we were in the front seat, he had his legs between ours. We could see what his legs really looked like. He was so skinny.
Michael couldn't stop apologizing for the way he looked. "I'm sorry you have to see me like this, I'm so sorry!"
He hid his face in his hands when he said that.
We were a little concerned, but we thought: Ok, there's 3 months until the shows in London, so he probably has to practice with someone...
3 months later, me and my friends returned to Carolwood, and witnessed the fact that Michael was visibly on medication.
But what was strange was that it was after the rehearsals, and not just after the visit to Dr. KLEIN.
So whatever they were giving him, he was either given or he took substances himself at the rehearsals .
That night, Michael was experiencing memory loss. He was completely out of it, like he was talking in his sleep.
If we could see that, don't tell me people around him 10 hours a day couldn't see it.
A few days later, Michael invited me and my friends to the "Dome Project" shoot. My friend made a jacket for him.
It was a red "Balmin" jacket, you can see it on the trailer of the movie.
My friend gave him his jacket and Michael took it to try it on.
He took off his own jacket. He wore tight white pants and a white shirt next to his body.
For the first time, we realized how much weight he had lost.
I couldn't have worn that jacket myself.
He was really skinny, not Slim.
The jacket was of course too big for him.
But he was happy and he said, "Oh, how do you know my size? »
Well... get a woman's size and it fits.
He kept it. You saw a picture of him wearing it, dated June 11, 2009.
Here is Marika's testimony she gave on June 21, 2009
" Dear Fans of MJ,
This is an important message. Some of you are going to hate it. Others will start to think about it.
As I'm sure you know, a few days ago, me and Moon were lucky enough to be invited to Michael's photo shoot.
Michael was wearing white pants. Really tight and a white shirt. Close to the body.
As you know, Michael's been really skinny since the trial. We've all talked about it and we've always said he's awfully skinny.
Some of us told him he should eat.
But what Moon and I saw last week horrified us. He's not frightfully thin, he's a real skeleton.
I saw his back, and I felt like giving up. I've never felt a shock like that. And I already knew he was skinny. But those clothes... it was like he was naked. I was embarrassed.
When I came out, what did I tell the fans?
"My God, he's so skinny! "And then what did I say?
"Oh, my God, that was great! I saw Michael !!! »
I had the same reaction I've had since the trial-- He's now more than skinny. He's a skeleton. But there's nothing I can do, so let's talk about something else! Let's talk about how happy I was to meet him.
But, to be honest, ever since that day, I've felt strange. Like a feeling of guilt.
I felt like I witnessed reality. For once, he wasn't wearing a coat, big sweater or baggy pants.
For once I saw the reality of his situation.
I knew it, but I didn't want to accept it.
Honestly, I think I was like all of you. We are worried for 5 minutes, but then the only thing we think about is: I want to see Michael, I want a hug, I want to tell him "I love you"...I think about myself and my happiness.
But I started to worry: Michael rehearses every day, he is surrounded by 200 people who work for him every day. But who are these people?
They are dancers living their dreams, Kenny Ortega producing the best show he has ever produced, technicians, Michael's security guards, Michael Bush...and Karen Faye.
No family, no friends, no one.
Karen is the only one who has love for Michael. So I sent her an e-mail. I wanted to know if people were blind or doing nothing?
Here's her answer:
Hi, marika,
I know, I know, I know, I know, I know.
I'm doing everything humanly possible... your heart and mine are in the same place.
Please keep it private for his sake.
(Whispers) Love,
Karen. Shanti, Shanti, Shanti.
(shanti=peace, calm, serenity...)
When I read this, I realized I was right.
She's doing something. But what can she do?
As we all know, Michael doesn't listen to anyone. He does what he wants.
And if you know anything about anorexia, you know that telling them to eat is completely useless...
So Karen told him to eat. He didn't.
People in this situation need a shock to start doing something.
So I ask you this question:
We all love Michael very much. We all want to see his shows. We're all thinking about how to do it so we can be in the front row. How to get more tickets.
How to meet him more than the other fans. How to take a picture with him. How not to hurt him.
How will you do all these things if during the concert he collapses on stage and his heart stops on the way to the hospital?
How will you feel when you talk to other fans and say : We knew he was too skinny to do 50 shows. We knew that he stopped eating during the trial and that he was rehearsing 10 hours a day for us.
How will you feel when you say: People said he was fine, but they were lying. We saw that he was a skeleton.
Will you feel guilty? Will you be able to sleep at night knowing that you knew and did nothing?
Some of you will say:
"He has doctors with him."
"They wouldn't let him dance if he wasn't healthy."
"I don't want to do anything. It would hurt her."
Let me tell you this:
If he had doctors with him, he would have gained weight.
No one saw Lou Ferrigno anywhere near rehearsals or Michael's house.
On the set, I looked at the people around Michael. Everybody was avoiding Michael. They were looking somewhere else. They were all working on their videos.
There was too much money at stake. You don't want to get fired because you told Michael to eat.
You all know that Michael's employees don't want to risk losing their jobs. They don't like Michael that much.
And for those of you who went to Carolwood, you all know that Michael is completely alone out there.
If you are reading this email, it means that you are among the MJ fans who know that Michael is not Peter Pan, Michael is not 100% perfect, and to this day, we are the only ones who love Michael enough to try to make a difference.
We all saw Michael at his lowest point, and we all see him today, still alive.
But just think for 5 minutes that this skeleton Michael has become, will have to happen 2 hours every night for 3 months.
Would you be able to do that?
Models die at 18 from anorexia because their hearts stop. And all they do is walk down a runway.
Michael is 51 years old. He dances 10 hours a day. And he's going to dance 2 hours every night for 3 months.
Do you think he'll be okay?
Now that you know, are you going to do something or are you going to fight with other fans to have the best encounter with him?
Please, let's think of the best way to help him. He needs a shock from us. We need to make him react
And unfortunately, we may have to hurt his feelings.
But if he stays alive, wouldn't that be worth it?"

Artist Helena Kadlcikova spent three months at Neverland. She talked about art with Michael, had dinner together and played with her children. Helena lived with Michael for 3 months and felt it was a bit like a fairy tale.
Immagine
The artist gave an interview to Cosmopolitan magazine.
How did this really happen? "It definitely wasn't easy," says Helena. His journey to Michael's home began in 2001. The first step was to get him to see the paintings Helena had painted while Michael was at his London hotel. After arguing with Michael's bodyguard, he agreed to see Helena. Michael commissioned some paintings. Helena however gave the condition that she didn't want money, what she wanted was to go to Neverland. Michael agreed and on a piece of paper with a Peter Pan logo, he wrote a contact number and Michael asked her to contact his assistant Evvy Tavaszi. The annotation with the contact number. Two years have passed. 'It was very difficult to reconcile everything I had planned. The problem was with the Visa. Michael faxed me a signed invitation letter, but I needed something for my embassy.
Immagine
So I followed him to Berlin in 2002, where I just went to visit him so I could take a picture with him.'
In another article Helena says that when she met Michael at the hotel, he had just woken up and was still sleepy and in his pajamas, and it was with the photo that she got her visa. Helena went to stay for two weeks but stayed for 3 months at Neverland. In September Helena flew from Prague with a gift for Michael, a book about Czech castles and Chateaux. She was met in LA by Michael's driver in a limousine that took her to Neverland. 'You don't know where you're going, what's going to happen. Suddenly, he opens the gate and I sign a pact not to take pictures or reveal information. Then you head through another gate, with a coat of arms of gold, with music playing and your adrenaline soaring.' Upon arrival, Helena installed herself in the main living room of the house, which was filled with antiques and sculptures. Then she was taken to one of the four suites. Although Neverland was over 1000 hectares, the guest building is located just twenty meters from the house where Michael lived with his children. The entrance was protected by a code, which was later revealed to Helena. 'There I was also able to walk. The house was in a rustic style. It could be compared to any presidential suite,' she says. Although Michael was not there on her arrival, he arrived at night and looked for her, however Michael was going to Canada the next day, where he would spend 3 days. 'I'm almost asleep, when I hear that someone is trying to get into my room, it was Michael, and he said: 'It's me!' He just wanted to say goodbye to her, and let her be comfortable until he got back from his trip. After Michael returned from Canada, Helena was finally able to start painting. 'He sent me pictures of Prince I, Paris II and Prince, which Michael himself photographed, according to the children, and I painted portraits of him. He left me free to paint, he just told me he wanted a drawing of a firefly.' During her stay, Helena completed three paintings before she left with the driver for trips to Santa Barbara and elsewhere. She also liked the Zoo and Michael's recording studio. 'We walk together on the court. Sometimes with Michael, other times with their children and their cousins. Also, Michael drove us, but we all ended up sleeping. The house had a beautiful garden. The notice to show the films was on a board located in the kitchen', recalls Helena. The kitchen was Neverland's main hub. Here everyone ate together, talking, watching television. 'In the morning, I would get up around 10 am, then go to the kitchen for lunch. He usually had breakfast with his children...there were many kinds of breads, cornflakes and a wide variety of fruits. So I went to teach the kids to paint in the afternoon and play with them. Dinner was a four-course choice. Michael avoided eating meat and meat products because he was a vegetarian. If anyone was hungry they simply asked the chefs to cook.' Helena saw Michael Jackson practically every day.
Immagine
Most of the time he was in his pajamas. 'He wore a very strong perfume, so I always knew when he was coming or where he was. Once he was changing clothes and left them on the floor, I took his underwear and put them in my things, and for a long time I still smelled him ', says Helena.
Immagine
The chance of staying with the king of pop for a moment alone was minimal, he always had someone with him. Helena still had several meetings. 'Sometimes we met in his library. We talked about art, the paintings I created. Michael liked the classics, abstraction was not his favorite.
Immagine
He also often talked about his first wife, Lisa M. Presley. It was obvious that he still had a lot of admiration for her. Michael is a very polite, sensitive man with a great sense of humor, someone who couldn't say no.'
Immagine
While Helena was at Neverland her birthday passed, and Michael had a cake made. We ate the cake in the morning and Michael was gone the next day, smiling at her: 'It didn't look like that famous singer - Michael Jackson.' In Neverland, wherever you went, there was music playing, coming from speakers hidden in the trees, along with the singing of birds. 'I met Michael's mom and Lisa Minelli. I was having coffee in the kitchen, sitting next to Michael, when Lisa arrived. Immediately I started imagining, and I was totally confused. Every day she arrived with her assistant and her dog, Michael was afraid of him.' In the last month of his stay, Michael went with his children to Las Vegas.
Immagine
Immagine
Then she saw him for the last time at Neverland. Helena's stay was interrupted by police raids, followed by a prolonged trial. Police raided the ranch a week before her departure. 'Often, there were helicopters flying over, from which people took pictures of the ranch. In the morning, I also heard a helicopter, and from it a man shouted something through the loudspeaker.
Immagine
At Neverland, no one knew what was going on. They were all in shock. Soon there were a bunch of cops, breaking toys for the kids, destroying Michael's old books, breaking everything. It looked like they were doing it on purpose. He, the policeman, came into my office and asked me a lot of questions.' In the evening, when she sat in the kitchen to watch TV, Helena found out what was really going on. 'A few days later, in early December, I left. If it weren't for Michael, I would probably never get this far with my painting. He always told me... what you want to achieve, you can do it, nothing is out of bounds. 'They said that inside, at Neverland, there were still some things of mine, painting equipment and that in January, they would definitely come back. This did not happened.' Michael moved from the ranch after the trial. Michael saw Helena again after three years in London. He chose the other images created by him in the meantime. and they agreed to meet again.

A few days after his death, a reporter was on one of the American TV shows. She said that when Michael died, she had been on a news assignment in a very remote part of the world, they heard about his death but did not think so much about it considering where they were. It was so remote that she and her film crew could only go by car and then they had to get out and walk the rest of the way over very rocky terrain. They had a local village man working for them as a guide and interpreter. After walking for some time, he turned to her and said,
"It´s very sad, isn´t it?" She replied, "What is very sad?" And he said: "Michael Jackson" She later reflected, that it was in that moment on an isolated mountain in a remote part of the world, looking at a poor farmer who probably never traveled more than 100 miles from where he was born, did she realized who Mihael Jackson really was...
THE MOST FAMOUS MAN IN THE KNOWN UNIVERSE.

Mourad Mesellaty is with Rob Swinson.

Neverland was managed and controlled by Colony Capital, not by the Estate. This is based on a contract Michael signed in 2008. The Estate did explore with Colony Capital a number of potential options for Neverland, including donating it to the State of California to be preserved for historical purposes and special events, but none proved feasible and ultimately Colony decided to sell the property. Neverland has always been and will continue to be a very expensive property to maintain. Thus, without any viable option to generate income from the property, Colony’s decision to find a buyer was understandable. Before Colony accepted the offer from Ron Burkle to purchase the property, Colony informed the Estate who, in turn, informed Michael’s children. After discussions among the Estate and Michael’s children and their advisors, the decision was made that the Estate would not purchase Neverland and would allow the sale to Ron Burkle to proceed. Given Ron’s friendship with Michael and his kids, the Estate believes Mr. Burkle will respect the historical importance and special nature of this wonderful property.
It is important to keep in mind that as magical and beautiful a place as Neverland was during the years Michael lived there, it was not his home for the last few years of his life and he publicly stated that it would NEVER be his home again. Michael’s music, vision and messages remain ever present with us – the artist, the creative genius and the caring human being with an unparalleled passion for the planet and the people who inhabit it. His love is immortal and will inspire generations to come.

This portrait of Michael Jackson and his wife Lisa Marie Presley was commissioned by Michael in 1995. Michael gave very specific artistic directions to Nordahl, including a list of things he wanted to see in the painting. The artist had to put aside the completion of this work to complete other assignments for Michael. When Nordahl returned to complete the painting, the couple had separated. The painting was sold by Julien Auctions for $7,680 in October 2010, accompanied by a letter of authenticity from David Nordahl.
The letter
"Camelot"
Michael & Lisa Marie
In November 1994, I spent two weeks with Michael and Lisa Marie at the Trump Towers in New York, I was there to work on two of Michael's projects while he was in the recording studio. Michael and Lisa Marie were great together and it was so much fun to be with them. In 1995, Michael asked me to do a painting of the two of them. He didn't want to do a normal portrait, he came up with a creative vision of how he wanted to portray their love for each other. Michael gave me a list of things he would like to see in the painting. I made a sketch (a copy of that sketch was included within the letter) and sent the original to him. He called me when he got the sketch. He said he loved it and not to change anything except to make the castle more "fantasy". Right now, I was working on 3 or 4 projects for Michael. I asked if I should set aside these projects in favor of this painting. Michael told me to finish the work he was doing and to do the painting later. Unfortunately, by the time it took me to get to this painting, Michael and Lisa Marie had split up."

Jermaine Jackson recounted how he once saved the life of his brother Michael, who nearly drowned in 1984, when he was pulled by a strong current on the beach. Michael took a moonlit dip during family celebrations at Jermaine's oceanfront mansion in Malibu, California. Jermaine said he dove into the sea and grabbed his struggling brother and took him ashore. He even gave mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, but recalled: "He needed hospital treatment right away. Full panic, I ran in my clothes and all into the water." At the time Michael Jackson was taken to the hospital in an ambulance and doctors found an air bubble that had burst in his lung. Jermaine added: "It was a life-or-death situation... If we had waited a little longer to get him to the hospital, he might not have survived."

When the #BadWorldTour stopped in Paris in June 1988, #MichaelJackson visited the capital behind the tinted windows of his bus. Each of his movements was followed by many fans who chased him everywhere he went. He saw Notre Dame, the Champs Elysées and the Arc de Triomphe (under restoration at that time) as well.
However, there are two places for which Michael will agree to get out of his bus: a visit to the famous toy store Au Nain Bleu, located on rue Saint Honoré, five minutes from the Crillon hotel where the singer is staying, and a private discovery of the Louvre museum.
On Sunday, June 26, 1988, Michael visited for the first time the most prestigious museum of the capital, during a one-hour visit, which took place after the official closing.
Guy Cogeval, a curator of the museum was charged by Jack Lang, then Minister of Culture, to show the singer the Louvre. He explains: "Jack Lang told me: 'Michael would like to be alone, so we'll do it after the museum closes. We're even going to hasten the exit of visitors before six o'clock, so that he can arrive exactly at six o'clock and it will be closely timed, but we mustn't let anyone know which door he's entering through because he's being chased by fans. And there are so many of them that we can't get them into the museum.' "
Despite being followed by fans, Michael's bus brought him, as planned, to the front of the museum at six o'clock where he entered followed by his entourage. According to the magazines of the time, Michael is dressed in black, he wears a black scarf also that he keeps on the nose, and his sunglasses.
The singer began his visit in the sculpture department. He would have been ecstatic in front of the two famous slaves, Clio and Calliope, by Michelangelo, before stopping for a long time in front of the sculpture The psyche revived by the kiss of love, by Antonio Canova. The Venus de Milo would not have failed to catch his eye either, making him lower his glasses.
In the paintings department, on the second floor, Michael admired, stunned, the Saint Sebastian Martyr by Guido Reni and would have even said, reaching out to the work: "the light is incredible! "
In front of Ingres' Bathing Girl, he reportedly exclaimed, "this skin, it's like you can touch it! "
The museum's press officer gave her impressions of the star in magazines at the time, after his visit, and confided that "this hour spent in the most beautiful museum in the world felt a bit like peace of mind to him where, through these big walls, the crowd could not be heard. She also noticed that Michael had stopped mostly in front of statues or paintings representing mostly tormented bodies on very dark backgrounds but giving off a bright light. Except for the two exclamations he made in front of the paintings, he did not express anything else. She was especially surprised by his shyness, his permanent self-effacement, the exact opposite of the diabolical side he displays on the stage"
Guy Cogeval, the museum's curator, also gave his version of the facts, more than twenty years after this visit: "The journey inside the Louvre began, a completely deserted Louvre, with six firemen in ecstasy, who were no longer thinking about their work. They were just looking at Michael Jackson. I've never seen a character create such a magnetism. Jack Land [the Minister of Culture] was not on the tour because Michael Jackson specifically asked that he not be there. He didn't want anything official. He wanted to do it simply. I think Jack Lang took it quite badly. There was a dialogue between Michael Jackson and me. He said to me: 'I know that your time is precious but I would like to see three works'. And he chose three works that were quite refined. I was surprised to see that he had his own idea of what he wanted to see in the Louvre. We went to see Love and Psyche [Psyche revived by love's kiss], which is one of the most beautiful neo-classical sculptures, a wonderful marble. Michael Jackson passed his hand around the sculpture and said 'Do you feel the vibrations?' and the guests 'Yes, yes I feel the vibrations'. Everyone was 'very high'.
Michael will also ask to see the Saint Sebastian and the Endymion, as mentioned above. Two of these three works will probably be an inspiration for the singer some years later, for his short film You Are Not Alone (see here).
Michael had a copy of The Psyche Rekindled by Love's Kiss in the entrance of his home in Neverland. You can see it in these pictures.
If his guests asked to see the Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci, it seems that Michael was not as interested as we were led to believe at the time. The look and the enigmatic smile of Mona Lisa will not have finally succeeded in seducing the King of Pop. At least, not this time.
It seems that Michael made other visits to the Louvre, a museum he liked to visit whenever he came to Paris. This is the case of a visit with his children Prince and Paris, probably in the 2000s (in 2006 during his stay of a few days in the capital?), after his trial. The person who organized the visit tells of having received a phone call one day asking him if he could take care of Michael Jackson for a private visit of the museum. Of course he could! And this experience marked him for life. When Michael arrived with his two children and bodyguards, the man wasn't sure what to expect. He had already received stars like Mick Jagger or Bruce Willis, and many politicians who wanted a private tour of the museum. But this star was different, because Michael Jackson had the soul of a child. He would play on the escalators trying to get down them as they went up, he would run through the corridors playing hide and seek.
"He was very smiley and kind to everyone," says the employee, "I had never met anyone like him. He was extremely sensitive. When he liked a painting, he was so moved that he would start crying. When I showed him the Mona Lisa he burst into tears and we had to stop to let him recover. He had an immense and incredible charisma. (As a reminder, Michael owned a portrait of the Mona Lisa wearing a white glove and a T-shirt with her image, made by Paul Bedart in the early 80's).
When he left, "I stood there waving like a child. Michael Jackson, back in the back seat of his cab, was waving goodbye to me like his best friend. I immediately became a fan. He was an extraordinary human being. "
A great lover of Art, Michael Jackson could not but fall under the spell of the Louvre. He had also told Gonzague Saint Bris, in 1992, during their trip to Africa, "the next time I come to Paris, I would like to visit with you the reserves of the Louvre museum. " Will he have been able to fulfill his wish? We will certainly never know.

"One of the things he use to like to do was come by my house sometimes if we didn't work, like we didn't stay in the studio all day but he'd do something and I'd drop him off at six or something…then he'd circle round back a couple of hours later. He'd come to my house and say 'Where are the kids?'
I'd say 'They're asleep upstairs, we just got them to lay down and be quiet, read them stories.'
'Can I just go up and look?'
'Yeah, but don't wake anybody up.'
In three minutes there was a pillow fight up there, the kids were yelling and screaming, and then he'd walk downstairs and, you know
I have hyperactive kids and I go 'Michael, I told you. Why did you do that, now I have to' and he'd laugh!
He had a laugh that was SO loud …you know he'd walk right out the door.
That was his sole purpose to come and wake those kids up, he thought that was the funniest thing in the world."

Andy Warhol interviewed Michael Jackson
''Michael Jackson didn't like caviar''
Andy Warhol: How long have you been working? Since you had two, or...?
Michael Jackson: Since I was four.
Andy Warhol: How old are you...?
Michael Jackson: I'm eighteen now.
Immagine
Andy Warhol: Fourteen - God, that's a long time.
Michael Jackson: But you see… if it's fun and you like it, that's good.
Catherine Guinness: God, all those truffles and foie gras!
Michael Jackson: Is this caviar?
Catherine Guinness: Yes, and scrambled eggs.
Immagine
Would you like to try a little?
Michael Jackson: I'm not very anxious...
Andy Warhol: Why don't you give it a try? Lets go...
Michael Jackson: Maybe a little.
Andy Warhol: It's really good. You have to [try].
Susan Blond: When I eat it, I like it just a little bit at a time. Just give him a snack.
[Michael agrees to try the caviar.]
Michael Jackson: Do you honestly like it?
Catherine Guinness: Yes, but I can't explain why, oddly enough. Maybe it's the texture.
Michael Jackson: I can't understand this.
How could anyone eat that?
Andy Warhol: When you start taking your girlfriend out to eat, you're going to have to start eating all this stuff.
Michael Jackson: No!
Andy Warhol: Yes you will.
Michael Jackson: Not if I don't like it.

"I met [Michael] twice. I talk about mind control, he was a genius! We went into the trailer - it was a two-story trailer - the trailer had stairs! [...] He does, he's tall! , standing there, two beautiful women walk in, he kisses one of them. It's a moment! It's not like no kiss... it's a situation! [The women] look Brazilian, and I'm like, 'Wow!' He is king in catching you off guard."

In 1993, Thomas Sneddon, the prosecutor who tried his best to incriminate Michael Jackson, obtained authorization to search Neverland. He came across a safe and did everything to get it open. When he finally did, he found that inside there was only... a paper with the code to open the safe. Bubbles is like a little pit bull, we were like... ''No one dares talk to Michael, no.' I come from the other room with my hands under my shirt, with the sleeves rolled up, jeans and boots. I look and think, ''Oh my God, my God, what is this? He's getting closer!'' I tried not to look at him. Michael and Eddie are there, laughing and talking, I don't know. as I looked at him and he's already very close to me. Damn...he raises his hand and KAAAAK! Slaps me on the foot! AUUUCHHH! And I was like, CRAP! It hurts. It hurts like I've never felt before and, in this moment, I'm sweating because I turned my head a little, and again I realized what was coming. Now he's baring his teeth at me. And, oh, dammit! Starts growling like a dog. Again and again he raises his hand, knocking on my leg. I started to get a little nervous. Well, Michael and Eddie are discussing some kind of thing outside and laughing. And I don't know what to do and straighten up in my chair. Now I'm scared. and he shows me his teeth and he's close, i can feel his breath. And I act like he wants to take something out of his pocket. I pull my hand out of my pocket and he grabs my neck. He hits me so hard with his little fist, so… I take my hand away and this time Michael notices Bubbles is too close to me. Michael took Bubbles with him and Eddie joked: 'You could imagine what would have happened if you attacked Bubbles...'

Michael Jackson spent a month and a half in Oman, a country located in Arabia, in November 2005. Businessman Anis al-Zadjali says that Michael spent most of his time with the Zadjali family, despite staying in a hotel and that he often visited the traditional market in the city of Mutrah, province of Oman, where he bought souvenirs.
Immagine
''Michael had come here for a three-day visit and it lasted for forty-five days. We had lunch together and he became part of our family. He felt very comfortable here and told us a lot about his life and how to treat people with him here. He visited the homes of many families in Oman and spent a lot of time with them. He learned a lot about Oman lifestyle. One day, he talked about us to his children, about how he would like to keep the same passion he gained here.
Immagine
He wanted to bring them to Oman, hugged them when they arrived and told them when they were in the car...''Hello, you're home, my children!'' I told him: "Michael, be careful, I'll go quote this in the media." He said, "I don't care, I love being here." We don't ask you to say this. People elsewhere offered him many things, but he still felt like he was at home in Oman. At home, we had organized a party for their children - to introduce them to our children.
Immagine
My sisters baked a cake for him and his children. It was very special since it had the name of his children in Neverland and Peter Pan, with Michael's face saying: Free to be me in Oman. Michael had tears in his eyes and he told me "I want to stay here."
Immagine
My nephew Talal Zubair is a big fan of Michael. At the party, he organized a show and imitated his dance moves. Michael was thrilled and his children said, "Dad, you have to take Talal with you on stage next time.'' One day we went with the kids to see a movie. On the way back, Michael asked his son who was sitting in the back in the car, what he learned from the movie. The boy was very smart and Michael challenged him with more and more questions. He wanted his children to be brilliant and to live the childhood he never had. Michael was humble, generous and a true humanitarian. You would never believe what you hear or read about him in the media if you knew him in person. Unfortunately, people around him took advantage of him.
Immagine
Michael Jackson was reading a lot. We gave him books on heritage from Oman, about its architectural art, crafts, and local music. He once called me at seven in the morning to ask me about the different dynasties in Oman, its strongholds and history. Michael Jackson was open and loving to people. Many people. people visited him and took pictures with him, but no one ever used his name for anything, they didn't publish these images in the media, and that's what made him feel safe in Oman. He said: "I love Oman because people treat me normally, I'm happy to be here.''
Immagine
Michael left Oman to go to the US when James Brown died. He was very sad but promised to come back. He was planning to come to Oman in December of this year (2009) to work with us. He especially wanted to work with Dr. Riad Hamzah, composing songs and writing poems together. I have a recording that says how much he wanted to live in Oman. Talal fell apart when he heard the news of Michael's death, as well as the whole family. We will miss him so much, but he will always be in our hearts.'' The testimony of a fan who met Michael in Oman.
Testimony by Samira Harib Mohd Al Maskry
''My name is Samira and I'm from Muscat (capital of Oman) and I'm 31 years old. I've been a huge fan of Michael Jackson since I was 4 years old. I think it was 1980 when I fell in love with Michael's voice. Being a fan all these years, I always told myself that one day I would meet Michael Jackson in person and believe it or not, but my dream came true when Michael visited Oman in 2005. At first it was just a rumor of that he was in town and I couldn't believe it! But as the rumors continued, I began to suspect it was true. I knew getting close to Michael would be an almost impossible mission, but I thought... if he really is here, I have to meet him! I waited in front of your hotel for three days without any result. Then I knew he would be at Al Bustan Palace the next day... It was a Sunday when I went back to wait in the lobby of the Al Bustan Hotel. I was prepared for a long wait, but suddenly a security guard approached me. It was the same security guard I had seen at the Hyatt Hotel a few days ago. He said: 'Haven't you seen him? Come with me and I will introduce you!' I froze and couldn't believe what he had just told me! But actually, a few moments later, there he was, wearing a red shirt and black pants, his hair down and looking at me through his dark glasses. My first reaction was to run to Michael and give him a hug! I said: 'I'm Samira and I'm a big fan of yours!' Too bad I didn't have a camera with me, but it all happened so fast. However, I did get an autograph - Love, always, Michael Jackson - he wrote on the cover of a book. He was just amazing and so kind! I will never forget that day I met my idol. Finally my ' Mission Impossible' was complete! I had met Michael Jackson!''

Michael Jackson and I share a lawyer, John Branca, and this photo was taken at this lawyer's wedding, where Michael and Bubbles, his chimpanzee, were feeding each other a cheese salad, as I remember! Shortly thereafter, I had the pleasure of introducing Michael to Abbey Road Studios and playing him some unreleased Beatles material, something that could only be played in the studio itself at the time, as Michael had just purchased the catalog. from the Beatles, which was one of the smartest moves imaginable. Like everyone else, I was very addicted to Michael's absolutely masterful and contagious recordings and it's no surprise that people are rediscovering his enormous talent.''

"Childhood" is an autobiographical song written and composed by #MichaelJackson. The theme of the track is his difficult childhood experiences. It would become the main theme song for Free Willy 2: The Adventure Home during the scene where the character Elvis runs away, continuing his association with the Free Willy series. The song's music video, which had little in common with the supporting film, has been critically praised. The video for "Childhood" is four and a half minutes is set in a forest, in scruffy clothes, sings "Childhood" while sitting on a tree stump long and has little in common with the corresponding film. For the record, The song was planned to be performed by Michael Jackson at a concert in New York City with HBO in December 1995, but the concert was cancelled due to Michael Jackson being in the hospital after collapsing during rehearsals for the concert.

Colony Capital owner Thomas Barrack in jail !
Sweet sweet revenge! If you recall, Colony Capital bought Michael Jackson’s Neverland Ranch in 2008 after Tohme Tohme, the self-proclaimed manager of the King of Pop during 2007-2008, introduced the owner Thomas Barrack, to Michael.
Barrack has been in the spot light for few weeks after he was accused to be involved in to Donald Trump’s inauguration and influencing agent with the UAE.
Today Barrack was arrested and jailed as a foreign agent in the Trump administration.
Few points here, Barrack and Tohme were responsible for Michael Jackson’s bad financial management. Both men clearly used Michael Jackson as a piggy bank back in 2007/2008. Barrack was even seen proudly posing at the ranch :
Tohme is also the one who introduced Conrad Murray to Michael Jackson and even sued the Michael Jackson Estate for his work as “manager” for Michael. At the end, he got paid $3 Million and he is now in hiding… well for now as it might be his turn to get done for his crimes !
Ron Burkle, a friend of Michael, recently bought the Neverland Ranch. If he did not, the ranch would have been seized by the US government like all assets owned by Barrack.
Barrack has been seen and friends with a lot of shady people and it is not a surprise that he is now where he should be: in Jail !

Michael Jackson super fan among those sanctioned by UK
By George Bowden
BBC News

A vice-president of Equatorial Guinea who is said to have spent £199,000 ($275,000) on a glove worn by Michael Jackson is among five people to receive new UK "anti-corruption" sanctions.

Teodoro Obiang Mangue is also accused of buying luxury mansions and cars.

UK Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab said the new sanctions targeted "individuals who have lined their own pockets at the expense of their citizens".

The four other targets were from Zimbabwe, Venezuela and Iraq.

"The UK is committed to fighting the blight of corruption and holding those responsible for its corrosive effect to account," Mr Raab said.

"Corruption drains the wealth of poorer nations, keeps their people trapped in poverty and poisons the well of democracy."

The sanctions will see the UK impose asset freezes and travel bans to prevent named individuals channelling money through UK banks or from entering the country.

Mr Obiang is the son of Equatorial Guinea president Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo and was appointed as a government minister in 1998.

The UK said investigations and media reports suggested he has spent more than £363m ($500m) since being appointed, far above his government salary.

Extravagant spending cited in support of the sanctions by UK officials is said to have included a $100m mansion in Paris, a $38m private jet, a luxury yacht and dozens of luxury vehicles including Ferraris, Bentleys and Aston Martins.

The UK said Mr Obiang also holds a collection of Michael Jackson memorabilia including a $275,000 crystal-covered glove which the singer wore on his 1980s Bad tour.

Immagine

Michael Jackson's "Bad Tour" glove was auctioned in Beverly Hills, California, in 2010

Among the other four targets was Zimbabwean businessman Kudakwashe Regimond Tagwirei, who the UK said was profiting from misappropriation of property in a way that led to accelerated deflation and increased the price of essentials.

In Venezuela, Alex Nain Saab Morán and Alvaro Enrique Pulido Vargas were accused by the UK of exploiting two public programmes for poor citizens.

And a provincial governor in Iraq, Nawfal Hammadi Al-Sultan, was accused by the UK of misappropriating public funds meant for reconstruction efforts. Al-Sultan is currently serving a combined five-year prison sentence in the country.

More than 2% of global GDP is lost to corruption every year, and corruption increases the cost of doing business for individual companies by as much as 10%, according to government figures.

The first set of UK sanctions under the global anti-corruption sanctions regime came in April, when 22 individuals allegedly involved in serious corruption cases in Russia, South Africa, South Sudan and Latin America were targeted.

Mourad Mesellaty

#StoryOfTheDay...In her book My Family, The Jacksons, Katherine recalls Michael's 1987 trip to Japan. Promising to keep him abreast of what the press was saying about him, Michael told his mother in one of the phone calls: "Mom, it's arrived at the At the point when I'm told you're on the phone, I don't want to take the call because I'm afraid you have something else negative to tell me. And it's hard for me to work when I hear these things because it bothers me." Katherine said: "Unfortunately, the stories so upset Michael that he ended up writing an open letter to the press in his hotel room." Katherine related that she cried when she read the letter and that she wishes the press 'to meet the Michael I know.' Katherine continues... 'Michael's letter represented her final word' to her critics. A while later Joe and I joined him in Japan for his final concerts there, his focus returned 100% to his tour.' Letter written by Michael at the Capitol Hotel in Tokyo in 1987. "As an old Indian proverb says... 'Don't judge a man until you've walked two moons in his loafers.' Most people don't know me, that's why they write things that most of them aren't true. I cry a lot because it hurts and I care about the kids, all my kids all over the world, I live for them If a man can't say anything he can't prove, against a character, the story can't be written. Animals don't attack out of malice, but because they want to live, it's the same with those who criticize me, they want our blood, not our pain. But I still have to reach my goals, I have to seek the truth in all things. I have to bear for the power that I was sent, into the world for the children. But have mercy, because I'm bleeding already long time now." #MichaelJackson
Now read Neal Preston's Testimony.
''When Michael Jackson was on the Bad tour in Tokyo, [People magazine] sent me and writer Todd Gold to do a cover. I had proposed shooting Michael at the Ginza at night, with all the crazy colored neon lights in the background, and he had agreed. Todd and I take a cab to the corner of the street I chose, and there are just normal people walking. Is perfect. A van goes up just in time and Michael leaves. I'm about to start filming when thousands of fans come pouring in from a subway station like zombies in a bad horror movie. It was pandemonium, and we didn't get the shot we wanted. Michael wouldn't do a face-to-face interview either. They told Todd to write questions down on a piece of paper and Michael would answer. A day later, Todd knocks on my door, shivering. "Look at this." Michael had handwritten this unbelievable ''Rorschach test'' of a letter saying, "I've been bleeding for a long time now", and "I was sent into the world by the children" It was surreal. Todd faxed it to New York and they wanted to reprint it on the cover, but they needed the original. So they put me on the next plane from Tokyo-New York with the letter and my movie so I could deliver everything to the MC. They weren't taking any chances.'' #NealPreston, American photographer.

BLAME IT ON THE BOOGIE Tito Jackson says brother Michael 'was so successful people forget about the Jackson 5'
The King of Pop's brother credits his mother with family's massive success after poor childhood

Eddie Rowley

August 02 2021 05:20 PM

I'm driving through Los Angeles traffic with American pop royalty Tito Jackson, who first set the music world ablaze in the Seventies with The Jackson 5.

At one point I'm talking to Tito's elbow as he cruises up into the hills, all the while giving me the inside story of life in the Jacksons through the decades.

It's a virtual trip with the pop legend as we're on a WhatsApp video call, but, although I'm in Dublin, it feels like I'm in the passenger seat of his SUV.

The iconic singer and musician has linked up with the Sunday World to talk about his new album, Under Your Spell, which comes out next Friday and features collaborations with artists such as Stevie Wonder and George Benson.

Throughout the journey we'll also discuss Tito's poor background growing up with his eight Jackson siblings and parents in "a very, very small house."

He reveals the key role his mother, Katherine, played in spotting her children's talent, and how she prodded her husband, Joe, to nurture it.

Tito is laid-back and softly spoken, but the entertainer becomes animated and forceful when addressing the child molestation allegations against his brother, Michael. He is adamant that they are untrue.

As the conversation begins, when Tito sets off in "horrible traffic" on his way to a video shoot, we talk about The Jacksons playing the Beatyard festival in Dun Laoghaire back in 2018.

"We took the ferry over from England," he recalls.

What are his memories of it? "I liked the beer, man," he laughs.

I mention that his brother, Michael, lived in Ireland for several months back in 2006, staying at Grouse Lodge in Co Westmeath.

"Oh really, wow, I didn't know that!" Tito admits. "That's great news. I guess he had a home there, right? Michael had homes everywhere."

Their own home as a child was, he says, just two bedrooms for a family of 11. His father, Joe, worked as a crane operator with a steel company in those days.

Immagine

Both parents, Tito says, influenced their children's passion for music - but he credits his mother for recognising their talent.

"I have to give credit to my mother because she was singing country music and we'd do the harmonies with her, so that's where I guess singing started," he tells me.

"It was me, basically, who started playing instruments and started playing more modern music like Motown, The Temptations and The Isley Brothers. I had my two brothers (Jackie and Jermaine) singing these songs with me, and we were trying to be a little singing group before Michael and Marlon were even part of the band.

"My father used to jam all the time at the weekends with our uncle Luther. I would sit there as a young kid and just stare and want to do what they were doing.

"My father had a rule in the house that none of us kids were to play with his guitar when he was not there. I was the one that didn't listen, I guess, and did just the opposite. I started practising and I broke a string and didn't know what to do, and that's when he found out I had been playing his guitar.

"He punished me, and then after that he said, 'show me what you know, what have you learned?' So I started playing and my mom said, 'Joe, I told you he's not playing the guitar like a kid, he really wants to play that instrument.'

"My father said, 'I tell you what, I spanked you because you weren't listening and you went against my word, but I'm going to get you a guitar and I want you to learn every song that you hear on that radio there.' So that's when I started listening and playing all these Motown songs with Jackie.

"My younger brother Jermaine would sing as well, making it a trio. Michael and Marlon were too young. They were little kids playing with little cars on the floor and begging to be in our band, but we would tell them, 'no, you're too young.'

"Then a year or so later we heard Michael singing at his school function and that's when we discovered that Michael had a golden voice, so we added him and Marlon into the group at the same time.

"Then we used to sing all the time in a room, the five of us when we first started out. My father would be at home, he'd be trying to rest because he was working a late night shift and we're making noise and he'd say, 'be quiet in that room, I got to get some sleep.'

"Then one day my mom went in and said to him, 'Joe, have you really listened to these boys? I think they can sing. My father said 'Kate the boys can't sing. They got nothing.' She said, 'no, really, I think you ought to listen to them. I think you can develop them.'

"He didn't believe this, so then he auditioned us and we sang for him and he couldn't believe it. With his next pay cheque he went out and he bought microphones, a PA system and hired a garage to rehearse and put the band together. He put us on the path to success."

What was it like being in The Jackson 5? "Oh it was phenomenal," Tito says. "But we were young kids and we didn't really grasp the magnitude of the success until later on in life. When you get older you realise you did something great. When we were young teenagers we were just kids enjoying the music and enjoying the ride."

Despite being pop idols, their father made sure that teenage girl fans never got near his boys. "He wasn't going to have us having babies when we were still babies ourselves," Tito laughs. "Papa wasn't having that. He was like any other father would be about his children and his family. You have to give him credit for that."

Tito is proud of his achievements with The Jackson 5. "Without The Jackson 5 there would have been no Michael Jackson nor Janet Jackson," he adds. "But Michael's success was so tremendous that sometimes people forget about The Jackson 5."

Tito Jackson's album, Under Your Spell, is out next Friday. His new single, Love One Another, is now available.

The Michael Jackson Guitarist Jennifer Batten became a key player in #MichaelJackson's band performances and toured with the King of Pop in the promotion of Bad (1987) Dangerous (1991) and HIStory: Past, Present and Future, Book I (1995).
Few people in Rock represent females as well as Jennifer Batten. Jennifer's stage debut took place on the stages of the Bad World Tour , seen by more than 4 million and 400,000 people who attended Michael Jackson's 123 shows in the 16 months of the tour.
Among the girl's challenges were playing live to hundreds of thousands of viewers songs like Dirty Diana , whose original recording features none other than Steve Stevens on six strings, and Beat It , a smash hit that contains, well, you know, a one of the most acclaimed and memorable guitar solos of all time, signed by Eddie Van Halen.
In addition to ousting the other candidates, Jennifer became a key player in the group's performances and toured with Michael Jackson in the promotion of Dangerous (1991) and HIStory: Past, Present and Future, Book I (1995). In the total of these two tours, approximately 8 million people saw her with guitars and eccentric looks on stages in European, Oceanic, Asian, African, North, Central and South American countries. After all these experiences, there's no way not to question her about some of her memories with the King of Pop :
''He presented us, the band and his entourage with special tours. Sometimes there were theme parks closed to the public for us to enjoy. He did it first at Tokyo Disneyland. And it was unbelievable. We would go on the roller coaster rides and when we were ready he would ask, 'Do you want to go again?'

Michael Jackson was 'saved' from 9/11 attacks by his mother
MICHAEL JACKSON was due to be in the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001 but he was saved by his mother who inadvertently prevented him from attending his appointment.

In 2001 international pop star Michael Jackson was working on what would be his final album prior to his death, Invincible. The record came out on October 30, 2001, reaching number one in the US and UK. Just a month earlier, however, he was due to attend a meeting at the World Trade Centre on September 11, 2001.
Michael was reportedly due to attend the meeting at the top of one of the skyscrapers first thing in the morning.

However, he missed the appointment by oversleeping.

One of Michael's brothers, Jermaine Jackson, wrote about the experience in his biography: You Are Not Alone: Michael: Through a Brother's Eyes.

Jermaine wrote: "Thankfully, none of us had had a clue that Michael was due at a meeting that morning at the top of one of the Twin Towers."

Jermaine explained: "We only discovered this when mother [Katherine Jackson] phoned his hotel to make sure he was okay. She, Rebbie [Jackson] and a few others had left him there around 3am."

Michael went on to tell his mother how she had saved his life, without even realising it.

He said: "Mother, I’m okay, thanks to you. You kept me up talking so late that I overslept and missed my appointment."

Michael held a benefit concert for the victims of 9/11 and their families the following month, on October 21, 2001, called United We Stand.

He held the concert at RFK Stadium in Washington DC, beginning in the afternoon and going through to the evening.

The King of Pop was joined by the likes of The Backstreet Boys, James Brown, Usher and Mariah Carey.

At the concert, Michael said: "I am not one who sits and says: Oh how wrong I am for what happened! I want the whole world to sing What More Can I Give, because all the people are united because this song is like a mantra, something you repeat endlessly. We need peace, we need to give to others, we need to love and unity."
The event was hosted by John Stamos who also welcomed other celebrities onto the stage to speak about the tragedy the country had endured.

Various Washington DC politicians arrived on stage with Michael, as well as actor Kevin Spacey.

During the concert, on top of hosting portions of it, Michael performed two songs for the audience.

He first sang Man in the Mirror, from his seventh album Bad.
Michael also sang What More Can I Give, a song specially written and recorded for the 9/11 attacks.

Included in the song are a number of artists, including Beyonce, Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, Usher and Shakira.

" Smooth Criminal " short film was shot between mid-February and April 1987 at Culver City, California and in the backlot at Universal Studios Hollywood.
Michael Jackson originally wanted to make a music video in the western genre, but after he and director Colin Chilvers watched The Godfather, he decided to change it to a 1930s gangster style. Vincent Paterson who was a lead dancer in the music videos for "Beat It" and "Thriller co-choreographed the "Smooth Criminal" video with Jackson and Jeffrey Daniel of the soul music group Shalamar. It was directed by special effects coordinator Colin Chilvers. Michael Jackson's white suit and fedora pays tribute to the Fred Astaire musical comedy film The Band Wagon.

Paris Hilton Kathy Hilton paris jackson Nicky Hilton
#StoryOfTheDay...#ParisHilton's Mother reveals truth about
friendship with #MichaelJackson. Hilton family matriarch fondly
keeps the memories of her great friend.
( Here in first picture, Nicky Hilton, Conrad Hilton Jr., Michael Jackson and Kathy Hilton with baby Paris Jackson )
Long Living in Hollywood Elite Glamor Kathy Hilton is best known as the mother of Paris Hilton.
In a recent interview with Bustle , the Hilton family matriarch recalled her friendship with the King of Pop, Michael Jackson. As a teenager Kathy attended Montclair College Preparatory School, where she met and befriended the King of Pop.
"We met when I was 13 and he was 14, and we developed a friendship and bond over the years." Kathy told Piers Morgan in 2011 that even after marrying Richard Hilton and becoming a mother, Jackson always rekindled her naughty child side. “And then, when I moved to New York, we always went to his shows. And, we used to make prank calls together. We were like two children. We had a great time together.''
Michael Jackson was there when Kathy's first child, Paris, was born and apparently spent a lot of time with them all. The “Simple Life” star revealed to Morgan that she was even invited to visit the set of the “Thriller” music video.
“And we still have the photos. I always loved him. I used to go to shows and he would bring my sister and me on stage.”
Despite Michael Jackson's tragic death in June 2009, Paris and Kathy will never forget the King of Pop.
It is no coincidence that the daughters of Kathy Hilton and Michael Jackson are called Paris. Jackson's sister La Toya told Yahoo! in 2012 that, as children, everyone took an oath to name their future daughter Paris.
“It was so funny because when we were growing up, we all said we were going to [one day] have kids. And I told them, 'Well, I'm going to call my first child Prince and my first child Paris. So Kathy had kids, she did it. Michael had kids, he did it. And I, well… I only had my dogs!''
Kathy was devastated to learn of Michael Jackson's death, she was one of the first people to promise that she would be with her children.
''I will always be there for your three beautiful children”.
When Kathy celebrated her birthday in 2018, Paris Jackson was honored to be by her side. Both Paris, Hilton and Jackson have also attended each other's birthdays in the past and support each other in times of need.
Kathy still treasures all the memories of her great friend. She has a picture of him hanging in her home office. True friendship never disappears.

The story of the Michael Jackson skeleton t-shirt. In June 2007, Michael Jackson took his children to visit Bodies: The Exhibition, an educational exhibition of human bodies and organs, which has been seen by more than 15 million people in cities across the US and Europe, with three million in New York , where the exhibition is mounted. It is said that during the tour, Michael Jackson guided his children about the evils of smoking, after observing the lungs of a smoker. He later emphasized the importance of healthy eating. While there, they entered a store, where Michael purchased anatomy and health books and a T-shirt, as well as a miniature skeleton. In an interview with Ebony Jet in 1987, Michael spoke of his interest in medicine: ''I'm so interested in human anatomy right now. The brain, so many different things like that. And the bones and everything."

In 1994 #MichaelJackson attended the second Annual Children's Choice Awards at the City Center in New York. He received the
'Caring For Kids Award'. This award is given to personalities who have dedicated their time to the younger generation to make their lives better. Over 75% of the 100,000 children surveyed between the ages of eight and eighteen voted for Michael.

Fear of flying: the phobia that plagued #MichaelJackson...''He loved being on stage in front of 80,000 fans.
I loved touring, but I hated flying'' told Brad Sundberg, sound engineer working on "Dangerous" album.
''We landed at JFK airport in New York in the rain. I immediately began to remember a story Michael shared.
Bill Bottrell and I were with him in the studio, probably around 1990, during the Dangerous project.
The three of us were working on one of Bill's songs [ Who Is It or Black Or White ], we were talking a lot. Some stories were funny, others curious. We had days when Michael wanted to talk more about recording !
This was one of those days.
I don't remember all the topics, but we should be talking about traveling and touring. Michael told us stories about growing up on the road, singing in nightclubs with women literally throwing themselves at him, a child. He kept talking...
He told us about how much he hated flying, especially when he was younger. I reminded him of the IBM laptop we bought him in 1987 — the first I've ever seen — so he had entertainment on the plane during the Bad Tour.
We got stacks of “Nature Computer CD ROMs” so he could see endless pictures of animals and the like.
Anyway, as we talked about traveling and flying, Michael told of one particular flight with his father and brothers on one of J5's tours.
He described the fear of flying in a storm. He told us how he was looking for his father, but Joe ignored him.
One of the flight attendants came and sat beside him and remained cuddled with him. As he told the story, tears filled his eyes, as if he were back on that plane.
Michael was a very interesting guy. He spoke very comfortably about how much he loved being on stage in front of 80,000 fans, but he was uncomfortable in a small group of people he didn't know.
He loved touring but hated flying.
The funny thing was, although his stories circled around anything I could contribute, he was intensely interested in our experiences too. He wanted to know what our childhoods were like. He wanted to know what Christmas was like. He wanted to know about our families and our lives, outside the studio.'' - Brad Sundberg
In 1996, Michael filmed and recorded ‘They Don’t Care About Us‘ in two Brazilian states: Rio and Salvador. Michael took a commercial flight between the two states while filming. The Executive Editor of Globo, Marcelo Senna, tells how it was to be side by side with Michael Jackson on a flight:
"Michael Jackson spent much of the flight playing with his companions, a boy and a girl aged six years at the time. With them, the look of his eyes was different. It was sweeter. I closely followed what few saw and heard: a fairy tale in which he portrayed a little lion lost in the forest. The children were delighted with the roars and the faces during the story. Me too. It was better than any of those mega video clips of the star on TV. This was an almost exclusive clip. For me and for the children.
The flight attendants, by the way, competed to serve him the food. Michael loved Guarana (a Brazilian soft drink) and ate everything from cheese, salami and ham, quail eggs, fried chicken, pineapple, grapes and quindim (a Brazilian dessert, it seems a little tart). As far as I can tell, I believe he ate about 12 quindim! But who had the greatest privilege was the flight commander. Michael went to the booth and sang a cappella, “Heal the World” when the plane was flying over Itaparica Island (near Salvador), and I was thinking I had already had the best times of my life before this !"

..For two boys, one black and one white, born in a world of stormy years that preceded the Civil Rights movement in America , society at large predicted that they were opposites and that one white boy should have more rights than the other.
Every one in his family struggled financially; each family had hope, each family shared love. The paths were similar, but 2000 thousand kilometers apart. There was a turning point when a parent chose to surrender to the bottle. Alcoholism collapsed the white family while another family found fame and fortune. Those two little boys became men as a result of the path traced by their parents. The white boy lost his father to drinking and the other lost his father to an addiction to power and control.
30 years later, the two boys' paths crossed in the City of Angels [Los Angeles]. One boy swore he wouldn't be like his father, the other had to prove to his tyrant father that he could do it alone. The orphan boy was outgoing but the other was very suspicious about the leeches of fame and fortune. No one knew what he really was like, an amazing and generous individual.
He was a boy blessed by fame and fortune who lost his childhood and used to invite people to his castle to have fun and play. One night I will never forget, during a water balloon fight, at Neverland Ranch, I was chasing this boy of fame and fortune, he then shouted a line from one of his songs: "I'm a lover, not a fighter".
We were friends despite our differences.
be at peace, MJ

Michael Jackson memorabilia will pay for Covid shots in Equatorial Guinea
By Nimi Princewill, CNN

September 21, 2021

(CNN)Nearly $27 million seized from the Vice President of Equatorial Guinea Teodorin Nguema Obiang Mangue will be spent on Covid-19 vaccines for the country, the US Department of Justice said in a statement Monday.

Assets confiscated include luxury vehicles and a pair of $275,000 jewel-encrusted gloves belonging to Michael Jackson.
The decision comes after a 2014 forfeiture agreement between the US and Obiang, who is accused of acquiring assets in the country with ill-gotten gains.
Mangue has disputed the claims.
The United Nations will receive $19.25 million to buy and distribute the vaccines in the Central African country, while $6.35 million will be handed over to a US-based charity "for the purchase and distribution of medicines and medical supplies throughout Equatorial Guinea," the justice department stated.

According to the settlement agreement between Obiang and the US government, the Equatorial Guinea leader "was required to sell a Malibu, California, mansion that he purchased for $30 million, a Ferrari automobile and various items of Michael Jackson memorabilia, and to contribute $1 million representing the value of other property," the DOJ's statement said.
The agreement also empowered the US to keep $10.3m of the forfeited proceeds, while the remaining funds would be spent on programs that benefit the people of Equatorial Guinea.
More than 76 percent of the Central African country's 1.4 million people live in poverty, according to the World Bank.
"Wherever possible, Kleptocrats will not be allowed to retain the benefits of corruption," Assistant Attorney General Kenneth A. Polite Jr said in the statement.
Obiang, 53, has been in the spotlight as a global crackdown on corruption and money-laundering focused on the source of his enormous wealth.
In July, a French appeal court upheld a guilty verdict against Obiang for embezzlement, a judgment that could potentially pave the way for the return of millions of dollars to Equatorial Guinea.

Obiang was earlier convicted in France and given a suspended three-year sentence, including a $35 million fine for purchasing luxury properties with illegal funds. His luxury assets were also confiscated.
The verdict by the French court came days after Britain announced it had imposed sanctions on Obiang for misappropriating millions of dollars, which authorities said was lavished on luxury mansions, private jets, and a $275,000 glove worn by Michael Jackson.
Sanctions announced by London had included asset freezes and a travel ban.
A collection of luxury cars belonging to Obiang had also been confiscated by Swiss authorities in 2016, following a corruption probe.
Obiang's father President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo has ruled the oil-rich, but impoverished, Equatorial Guinea, since taking power in a coup in 1979, eleven years after independence from Spain.

The inspiration that came from ''Daybreak''
There was never any doubt about Michael's taste and knowledge of art or literature, or his ability to combine these aspects in a dazzling and appealing way. This interesting fact is another testament o his genius.

Daybreak is a painting done by artist Maxfield Parrish in 1992. It inspired Michael to produce the video You Are Not Alone, with the participation of Lisa Marie Presley. On 05/25/2006 Daybreak was purchased by a private collector (Robyn Gibson, the wife of actor Mel Gibson) at an auction in the U.S.A., for $7.6 million dollars.
